First machine?

category: general [glöplog]
My first machine was a microwave. My mum and dad convinced me to have it for my birthday present but when they gave it to me they treated it like it was THEIRS! I wanted to put my wrestling and Supernaturals figures in it but they wouldn't let me cos it would ruin it. But I said it was my birthday present and upto me if I ruined it.

I now realize I was tricked so they could buy something for themself instead of getting me a proper birthday present.

But I got a Nintendo (the one with the Robot!!!) for Christmas from my gran and grandad the same year. They always bought me cool stuff. My mum and dad just bought "me" stuff they could use for themselves like a dustbuster and shit like that.

c64, a500, 386, 486, amd-k5, amd-k6

ah yeah, and some game console with "7200" in it's name, although it was not the atari one... and a pong set. not a "machine" exactly

svi-328 -> msx (svi-728) -> (nes ->) 486 (25mhz) -> p75 -> k6-2 300 -> (playstation ->) 386(16mhz) -> duron 700

I'm mainly using duron and nes today, 'cause my gf thinks we don't have enough space for those old computers (svi-328 and msx) and they are still waiting for me at my parents place.

ATARI 800XL, ATARI 520stfm, 486DX2, AMD K6, Celeron 400, P3 1Ghz...

I always wanted a falcon but had no money back then, so i had to wait, eventually i got directly to the PC.

In the 90s i worked for a small game company. When they closed i got to keep their amiga 500, but i think i swapped it to Twilight for something i cant remember right now :)

oh yes, i had a sinclair zx of some sort before the dragon 32, but it was taken back to the shop after a few days, and swapped for the dragon 32. No idea why. And between the dragon32 and the c64 i also had a vic20.

Let's see. Ok, chronologically:

Vic 20 > Amstrad CPC 664 > Commodore 64 > Amiga 1000 (anyone remember those?) > PC 386SX/16 (I had to use it for school, but I found there was a scene on PC as well)

An Amstrad CPC 6128, then some kind of 286 first with Hercules and then with VGA (because we persuaded our dad that we need the VGA more than he does uin his XT for writting texts and Fortran77 proggies) and then getting daddy's older PC when he upgraded to the new one. Till my brother said oh well, I will buy an Athlon PC with a 3dcard on my own and he gave me a Pentium3. I also collect various old machines today, like a C64-II, Amiga500 (I lost my 1200, gave it back to the friend who has sold it and bought a Dreamcast with the money), AtariSt which has a monochrome monitor and I still haven't used it for watching demos, gameboy clasic, gameboy pocket, GBA, more CPCs, an XT with a Nec8088 (can run Z80 code they say) in my village, some old 386, 486 I builded from parts I found in the garbage, hmm.. I guess these are. Ohh,. and a C128 that is still in the hands of a friend in Athens (As my A500 is too,. gotta travel there and get them oneday).

Sorry,. I couldn't just write "A CPC 6128 and then a 286 with Hercules". I always have to fill texts..

C=64, Atari 1040STF (games), Apple II (turbo pascal), Acorn RiscPC600 (love at 1st sight), 286/16 (turbo C/wolfenstein), 486DX40 (doom/linux), Duron700 (current main machine). After that and in between some twenty different machines for collecting/hacking/learning (including Cryos Amiga500 ;-). Some day I'll make a web-page presenting my collection to all the other strange folks with no life who might be interested ;-)
