Back from South Korea

2 words: GO THERE!!!!
been there. so?
would like to go there, yes.
why?
Best country I've ever visited - that's why.
That doesn't say much, maybe it is the first foreign country you have visited!
Rob, true - however, that's not the case. I visited germany (maaaany times), france (maaaaany times), netherlands (maaany times), belgium (maaany times), sweden, schweiz, austria, spain, india, italy, poland and malta. From those countries, south korea became an instant favourite. I can't pinpoint what it is I like so much about south korea - maybe it's the food (many people absolutely hate south korean food), the people, the countryside, seoul, busan, kyongju - dunno. Maybe it's the fact that this country was never on the aggressor's side in times of war - dunno.
I think everyone should go there to form their own opinion. I can just say that you most likely will not regret going there.

Oh, I totally forgot the drive-thru countries: Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.
And sorry to all I offended with the previous sentence. ;)

Sounds nice, I have never been in Asia. I definitely want to go there someday, but right now I am preparing a two month trip through Chile and Argentina.
i wanna go to north korea :)
Interesting nutman, actually you're the second person i see reacting like this after having been in south korea. Maybe there's something there...
Or maybe you was played Starcraft?
Come to Function 2008 ;)
nystep: There's definately something there. I was seriously sad when we had to leave the country - and I've already made up my mind that I HAVE to go there once in a while. Not just once, but many more times.
I will HAVE to see the north-eastern mountains in the autumn and visit a buddhists monastery there to enjoy the silence and perhaps meditate a bit.

The have GAMEPARKS!!!
North Korea is Best Korea
They have pretty much everything. A city like Seoul is just massive, in every aspect of the word - and so damn clean everywhere, all over the country. Even in Seoul with 13 millions people living there. It's quite amazing to stand on top of a 270 metres high mountain in the middle of the city and not be able to tell where the city ends....!

Let me put it this way:
If you flee from north korea to south korea, you WILL get caught. Then you will be interrogated for a couple of weeks in order to determine, whether you're a north korean spy or just a north korean who wants to live free.
If you flee from south korea to north korea, you WILL be shot on sight.
Nobody, except for a spy, wants to go from south korea into north korea voluntarily.

then go to istanbul, almost 30 millions people (most of them are partly bears) live there, and even if you're looking from a damn satellite you'll never be able to tell where the city ends because it does not. but i warn thee you won't like it for sure after being to countries like sweden, denmark or finland.
... or south korea? ;)

So then it's perfectly reasonable to shoot anyone fleeing from South Korea into North Korea on sight. Funny how these things work out.
nutman: how strange. all my life i've been under the impression that we have the best/cleanest/most godly nations and all other continents were backward sewer dwellers. i may have to stop watching tv and pay this place a visit
