At least every thread about an artist that turns out to have copied a load of art and kept it quiet for many years is :)
Anyway, is any of ra's recent work online? I'm interested to see what he does these days.

No, the logos are good. But the people I know who know who Ra is judge him by his copied work, especially that undressing woman. The Pouet screenshot of Stars is just that - that's the work that has become associated with Ra, not his logos, because his logos, even though they're good, are much less spectacular.

You can always argue that copying is alright if you take something generic and rather bland (a random celebrity photo or whatever) and add your special thing to it, but I don't think anyone argues that taking impressive and unique graphics from another artist and "failing to mention" that all you did was copy them, while not even deviating a little bit from the originals, is just lame.
So I don't see this turning into another copy debate.
Seeing those originals is quite the downer indeed.

I agree. Copying a photo and representing it in a new way and new style is cool, but copying another artist including his style is not good at all! That does show 0% creativity.
I was disappointed to see those originals too. :(
