C64 Disk transfer

category: general [glöplog]

Hi,
I just got a C64 and a 1541 floppy disk drive, and I would like to see some demos on it, the problem is that it seems to be hard to transfer d64 disk image from pc to the c64, need msdos and specific cable etc... so I ask here if a c64 scener with the appropriate tools can help me, I could send him a 5.25 floppy and if he could write on it 2 demos of T.O.M that I would like to see on my c64 :)
Thanks in advance.

No it is not hard! :) The only thing you need is a RetroReplay with RRnet Card and Warpcopy from Graham/Oxyron. Ok, maybe this is a little bit too expensive for just 2 demos. Which demos from T.O.M. do you want? Just drop me an e-mail and i will look what i can do for you! :)

hey, when I can do it on tapes! then you can do it on disks! shouldnt be that hard.. just find a tool that does it for you, like i did for the tapes. Try one of the above tools, im sure they know what they're talkin about.

XA1541 and cbm4win are your friends. Three cheap clicks on ebay and you're there.

The XA1541 is also very easy to solder together yourself.

Just for a stupid fellow like me, you connect the 1541 directly to the pc with the XA1541 ?

Can i do this with my 1571 also ? I like to provide my c128 with some stuff, too. (emulators are useful but suck..:-) )

Thanks all for your answers :)
I think I will try XA1541 cable, then I can do plenty of disk \o/

I must say that my first idea was also directed for knowing the enjoyment of swapping as in old time, because I'm really fan of oldschool time/stuff and I didn't know this time period since I was too young. ^^
