If anyone's at a loose end and feels like doing some research, how about digging up some information about the Casio vs Swizz Beatz (not Swissair as I previously transcribed ;-) ) case? The way Timmy tells it, Casio settled because they realised they had no case (because Swizz had "brought 'em keyboard") but surely if Casio initiated the action in the first place, Swizz must have settled with them because he knew he had no case?

It's unfair for swedes to have to be familiar with Håkan Hellström, the guy can't sing at all. The only reason he is famous is that he looks as an energizer bunny on drugs on stage, which makes teenage girls go mad.

Misstake of me it seems MTV has made the interview themselfs...anyway Timbaland is repeating the "I'm Good"-argument
I heard the interview, as for sampling of studio equipment, eg.. midi modules... most makers got wise and started to DISABLE the midi out from the unit when the demo tune was playing (I know as my friend used to take the midi out and they stopped him doing it).

I had no idea "I'm awesome" was a legal defense.
"I'm awesome" is actually the only defence he has, if it weren't for his other records and hits, his music days would be over by now. "I'm awsome" is the only reason anyone is defending him, not a good reason but the only one.

there's been a lot of speculation about the "it's from a video game, idiot" comment, including the suggestion that he's actually describing Tempest as "a video game idiot", which personally I don't buy.
I reckon he's actually referring to the C64 as a "video game", which, let's face it, is what it is to everyone in the world except us - and in that sense it's (sorta) accurate to say that the music is "from a video game". In other words, it was just his way of saying "what's the big deal? It's just from a crusty old computer."
Which is, of course, a complete non-answer to the copyright question, but manages to mislead people on both sides into thinking that he's accusing Tempest of stealing the tune himself.
