Youngest Scener?
category: general [glöplog]
I was wondering, I'm 17 years old, am I the youngest scener?

maybe
17 ... haha, oldtimer.
I've been thinking about something like this too... Who was the youngest person to enter the scene?
Well, 17, youngest scener? No chance!

i was 15 when i started to code demos. but had interested in the scene before that.
i started trading and doing ascii while being 15.
I think I met the youngest scener at Boozembly.
This kid was 12 years old back then (hence the nick). He did release some demos although they were pretty bad.
Woops, copy-pasted the wrong tab, here's the good one :-)
parse: i see you list three groups there. how are you affiliated with iNF? (i'm guessing you're not, is there some other group using the tla "inf"?)
What does means "enter the scene"? Watching demos and love these are to be scener?
I'm 5 actually. I registered to pouet when I was 1.
I started with 14 or something. Back then everybody was that young. Its only today that the parties are flooded with boozing old farts..
let's say with 17 you are below average but definitly not the youngest ;)
Most of my groupmates and me have been playing around with AppleII, Atari VCS and cheap Z80 Sinclair clones (1977-1981) at the age of 7-11.
I don't know if the first cracks/tagged high-score tables or title screens can be called scene. Our first C64 intro was done when our 4 members have been 11-13 years old.
1982: [link=]http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=17555[/link]
Whole scene was about 12-13 years in average at this time.
As this was the initial start for a kind of network and swapping, so we used to call it scene. The AppleII or Atari XE years before have been nonpersonal and no real scene for us.

I'm also 17, and I had the feeling I was the youngest scener at Evoke...
Good to read though that I'm not the youngest scener in the scene ;-)

MadenMann: Thanks :=)
i am about 6-39 years old
This one kid in my old class was coding some rudimentary demo'ish C64 stuff at age 12... That was back in 1998, I believe.
sceners are so old nowadays. mr z was born in 1970 and the oldest dated cracks i've seen from him are from 1983, trident/active coded his first dycp when he was 12 or something, it can be seen in a demo by cult.
i could make a longer list but i am too old and tired

heh i'm also 17. i was thinking that i'm a kiddo 'til i saw mgzzy/naked hamsterz. umm he is 15 or so. by the way glad to see some other 17ers in the scene :)
starting with 17 does feel late - some probably already left the scene at that age =)
You all make me feel like an old fart and I'm just getting excited about the scene.. :)

The youngest person currently mentioned at that page is Fr34k, who was born on 20/08/1990. But there may be even younger ones since only persons who were born on August 18 - 20 are listed at that page at the moment.
