s0r: I figure that either magic or ep (adok is probably too proud for this) send 'anonymous' letters to some people who were badmouthing the digital shitstream that is Hugi.

Just a guess though.

Still i must say that all this exposure is way too much attention for something so insignificant as Hugi.

This thread makes me think of a big scary bully I knew back in school. He was a clever guy and a master of creating a mob against those who stood out as strange or weak or as outright crazy. Even though he was kind of sad himself and nobody really liked him, nobody dared to tell him or go against him either for the fear of becoming his next target. So everyone just went along with it. What scares me the most in the scene right now is not some minor scenemag editors going nuts. What really scares me is this thread.

archmage: do realize that Scamp (if you refer to him as the 'bully') has to deal with magic quite a lot when organizing breakpoint. And not in a good way.

This is not some random 'bullying of people that are strange', this is an outburst to people that have been consistently bringing shit in the scene for the past years. Hugi has not been relevant for the past 7 or 8 years, but still the spamming and ridiculous commenting of the 'Hugi core' is everywhere on pouet.

Now it's true that Pouet is not the main source of demoscene news, but it's still pretty big and these people have been systematically ruining a lot of things.

problem with these people is.. talking sensible with them about all this doesnt work and i fear making a drama out of the whole situation isn't going to be helpful either, but well at least it shows them how fed up 99% of the scene is with their behavior.

How about inviting EP, Adok und Magic into your house? They are poor fellows that need protection! Invite EP to use your phone to call the police, telling them about made-up criminal activity about your person, identifying himself as your friend. Have Magic standing next to you 24/7, asking you pointless questions and begging for attention. Have Adok give powerpoint presentations about race theories in your sleeping room.

After you've done that, I'll bow to you for being the most tolerant person in the world.

But while these guys are shitting on *MY* or my friends carpets I'll most definately take each and every action I see fit to get rid of them and my friends.

Really, even inside the scene, one of the most tolerant communities in the world, you need to draw the line somewhere. For me, these lines have been crossed constantly, and now it's enough.
