Nice glitch amiga demo with nice music

Good demo. The limited and almost monochromatic color palette fits the "microscope" theme very well. Nice music too. I just tried it on a 68060 / 50Mhz and apparently it goes to 12 fps, which before you said something I would say that I think is not bad for a demo of this particular style and also developed with a vampire accelerator.

Though It needs FPU and around 16 Mb of fast RAM this prod don't requires the AGA chipset. This could be both something outrageous to some old farts that stick religiously to A500 or something great to some people with A3000s (or expanded A2000s) that feel that nobody cares about their rare machines. Anyway, I think that nowadays we should celebrate that there are still people who wanna put the effort to create demos for our dear obsolete computers.

Welcome to Amiga, Satori!

Not quite my cup of tea, code runs slow as molasses on my A4000/60 which completely spoils the demo for me due to the bad frame rate. I also got quickly bored when watching the demo, quite liked the music though.

I think this shows a lot of similarities to your earlier work Different Engine. This demo does a pretty good job on the layered visuals but it doesn't manage to attain that same level of freshness I have witnessed in DE.

That's right, and this demo doesn't try to hide similarities with DE. Even the images used are from the same source (rare find of microscopic negatives in someones attic 20y ago).
It was just not a proper DE2 to name it that way and there been no music of the same weirdness qualities (Distance was asked several times over the years to deliver one of those again :)).
I was pretty lucky to find suitable music from Goto80, which he sent a year ago for other matters. I wanted to make a demo with Goto80 for a long time, so finally it worked out - unplanned actions sometimes works best.

For the time spent making this demo (2.5 days of actual demomaking and few sessions before to make the framework work and port essential blit routines), I'm satisfied. I rather didn't risk to spend more time to refine it as DB organizing needed my full attention. The second half surely needed more love.
Most of those compositions could not handle crossfading with other ones, so it was used just at the start & end. Have it used all over the demo would help to support DE-ish feel, but on the other hand, I was happy with "effects" and didn't want to simplify them nor got time to optimize.
Since I dreamed of making Amiga prod, I knew I'd try first to revisit the code simplicity of DE to gain similar visual richness. And it's probably not the last time. Thanks again to Haujobb for providing to the point framework where you can focus on actual production and don't worry much about the system.

audio and visuals were nice but the demo didn't seem to really go anywhere. I'd say it didn't feel too slow on 060 50Mhz (said 15 fps on exit). looking forward to the next one and thumb up for picking up a new platform.

Nice demo. Of course I esp. like the fact that our framework helped you in the process. And that you were the first one to use it. Welcome to Amiga!

Hoping for more, from you and others.

Thumb up for making demos on Amiga and using Haujobb's framework. Piggie for visuals, music and design, which are too strange for my taste.

Lots of Youtube clickers here, it seems.

This release absolutely requires minimum requirement specs in NFO. What Ham said doesn't apply. It doesn't run on A3000, and I think if viewers had to wait for 5-10 minutes of loading before a 1 FPS grayscale slideshow starts, or a 5 FPS one on 060, they just... wouldn't be impressed.
sucks added on the 2019-03-06 21:27:30 by Photon Photon
I'm sorry. I put it on the wrong card with the wrong s-s... It runs 12 FPS on 060 and loads in 25s. Wish I could remove the impatient comment.

It's still slow and boring to me, but I think the music fit the demo well, and the sync with the glitches is good. There are a couple of line effects hidden in the gray barrage of sliding pictures, but after a short while things repeat, so you expect something to happen but it's the same to the end.

It's an awesome because it's a new concept for amiga demomakers.

Thumb up for the first Amiga production.
However, it shows how hard it is to move from powerful PC with almost no limits to a humble Amiga.

Nice. My kind of experimental.

Runs full speed on emu68/pistorm/A500+ ... 24fps if the counter at the end is right
