@misioslaw since all the interesting parts of it (besides compression) are about generating x86 asm ppc would mean a complete rewrite... and the decompression routine has to be written in assembler too of course... so it would have ment twice the work... and nowadays most mac users have switched over to intel anyway

That is totally not so. But a lot of wintel users switched to Macintels.

i get "Bus error" trying to use it on intel macbookpro tiger. any possibilities of a fix? :/
ps: i developed it on leopard and used leopards dyld and crt1 code as reference... IIRC in tiger crt1 had to do a lot more work that is now done automatically so a tiger port is probably non trivial and will result in larger binaries...

The example build script is thoroughly fucked in snow leopard :( After much arsing around I have it building without warnings (other than depreciated api calls) but it segfaults :( LD's output works fine.
