Enjoy ;)

some nice stuff here and there, i especially liked the synchros and the general flow (i somehow liked the loading :), but some color combinations were bad and there were too many glitches (look at the letter 'i' in the font for example).

A promising start :) *waits for a next one*

It's a pitty my female geeks page is obsollete anymore. 3 Spanish girls I wasn't aware before and Diamondie forming a new girl group, that would be a great news report for it :)

Nah,. btw is it accelerated? I still have to find a 3d card for my PC. It's a lot of things I have not seen yet..

it's OpenGL, or at least it seems to be

Now this was a big surprise :)
Lots of details, interesting effects and an overall "buen rollo" feeling. And as a side note, Spain has even more (in number) skilled female sceners.

pretty enjoyable prod with really cool zic :) and it's nice to know the scene could be surprising :)

PS: it seems that some data pics aren't loaded/shown, is there a hidden part or will they appear in a final version ?

the music is cool,
the synchros are cool,
but again those colors,
and "scrollers have to move smooth"(tm)
and no more "life support system disconnected" (tm) crap...
anyways i really enjoyed it, but doesn't worth a rulez...

nice and stylish... not as in _MY_ style, but the fancy and colorful style fits the demo "theme" very well. A few coding bugs here and there, but this is a party version, so it works. Also, it's nice to see girls actually doing stuff in the scene, but that doesn't change my vote a little bit :-)

Well for the ones that didn't know, each one of us belongs to different groups. We only "created" this new group (powerpuff) because it was easier than saying network+zon@n+unknown/tlotb.
By the way, great thanks to diamondie for the ascii. I asked her for an ascii just some days before the party.
I think this should be explained in the file_id of the final version, which should fix some problems ... ;) (That you haven't noticed yet!! but I know they are inside that little .exe)
Thanks to all and continue waiting! hehe
WTF???!!!The music is annoying, and the visuals....omg!!...the visuals. This is truely fugly :)

I think there's potential here, but I don't think it was realized this time around. I loved the music, but I think the demo seemed a little inconsistent on the whole.

Today it's not something superb for me to see girls in the scene. I discover accidentally a lot of them, while searching for another person on Ojuice people section for example. It's ok and egal für mich. Afteralls my website only says that and the quote from Duke Nukem 3d anymore..

I am not a coder, but those effects have to be really wonderful and demanding if they can slow down my GF4 so much... and why is there a spunk covered biatch in the intro?
No thumb down because it's your first try.

Sorry girls but when even a simple scroller can't be smooth on todays hardware then something is really wrong ;)
Nice to see an old Jim Lee picture again, my, oh my, brings back old comic nerd memories...

The scroll is not smooth because I wanted it to be like that. So simple. So ask before judging.
well, it just looks so unholy; and seemingly either operated in 1600x1200 by default or just adapted to my desktop res :)

Seriously, how many of you thumbed up (or pigfaced) because girls are allegedly behind this trainwreck of a demo?
sucks added on the 2003-11-04 03:03:32 by Shifter Shifter
the music was really... annoying. playing this late at night didnt make it better either. hmm.. a little pigface for 2 nice color combinations and it was also nice to see a strawberry in the beginning.

I'd definitely like to see what seem to be pretty simple effects, that don't chunk my 2.6ghz so badly, in a final version. Reminds me a lot of threepixels stuff, maybe their engine? :)
added on the 2003-11-04 04:19:49 by troll troll
Shifter, I personally don't give a shit if it's a demo made by girls or not, but I've seen lots of things on it I see in few debuts.
They've put effects, details, actually tried to play with combinations of colors, focused on synching...
Yeah, demos should be done that way but how many groups try, and even manage, do do that on their first demo instead of choosing the easy way?
My first thing compared to this was total crap, they've put a lot of effort and that's why I thumb it up.
It's the same thing with every other production. Now also expect me to start demanding more :)

ffs, its a demo, it doesnt need to be the next big thing since sliced bread to own you. :)
besides, it greets tpolm so its automagically a good demo ;)

VeNomSouP: I don't believe thinking this is a good and enjoyable demo (and don't know about you, but I did enjoy this at the partyplace) means I have no life or no girlfriend... I do have a life, I do have a girlfriend (who is not included in the credits of this production, and has no relation to the demoscene whatsoever), and I still think this is a nice demo, which I happen to enjoy. As I said, the gender of the creators doesn't change my vote a little bit.

I think I know why this ran so horribly, 51 channels! And half the samples were not cut. I shaved 400k off the .it by trimming the beginnings and ends of samples. AND it sounds a lot cleaner. Also trimming down half the doubled channels and adjusting volumes instead would help. Even if some are octaved, couldn't hurt to be conservative. NNA's are your friend. Matter of fact, I should try that. Please, please, please! optimize your mods, and your code, and you'll go places.

Actually, I guess the code is just slow, trimming down the mod didn't help the slow effects and stuttering, but most of the tracking is overkill anyways. A clean ending would have been nice!

yeah. this demo runs in the desktop resolution? which is 1600x1200 32bpp here for me. and that wasn't fast. even though I wonder why, such simple graphics shouldn't be that slow, not even in that video mode.

sorry to thumb down, the effort is good, and there should be more girls in the scene. but this demo isn't good at all.

so, as gloom said, learn more and try again.

I just watched this for the first time. Hmm. It was a bit slowish and buggy, but I guess that's because of my integrated GFX card. The scene on the screenshot was very buggy, I guess that 3d thing is suppose to move but it didn't and there was a white layer on top of everything.

Many scenes were quite ugly, the huge texts didn't look too good, but those red scenes were cool. I found the music quite nice, even though it was very mid-90's. The demo ended a bit after the greets scroller started, I guess the timing was a bit messed up because of the slowness .
added on the 2003-11-10 17:03:37 by DiamonDie DiamonDie
you said that: "it's because of your integrated gfx card".
I don't use to comment any prod that I'm not really able to view properly. Imho, of course. ;)
Aaarghh,.. these intergrated cards. I know another Erasmus student here from Bulgaria and sent him recently some demos which he liked very much and was even thinking to learn coding some too or even coming with me at TUM. What a bad irony to find out later that his slow computer with intergrated gfx card makes tons of accelerated demos to deny running!!! (The percentage was so big that I was tapping my head! I think only FR08 ran at all. Hell..) Exactly the person who showed some interest for demos happens to have the exact PC that can't run many of them! I hope this doesn't demotivate him :)
added on the 2003-12-25 19:13:48 by Optimus Optimus
I use to comment on demos and only talking about anything else than the demo itself. Like the above or this..

Hey TeXeL! Are you still in the scene or not? I think I sent you an email entitled "modified bresenham algorithm for girls" (Guess what's all about :) but you didn't replied. I hope you don't find me boring or timewasting ;)
added on the 2003-12-25 19:16:44 by Optimus Optimus
And what does this last comment have to do with the demo? Hahaha Optimus, you have a very strange ability to deviate from the original thread XDDD
Well, it's important to spread the scene all around, and if your friend can't view the demos you can also recommend him to view wild demos, or still better, make some miniparties and view demos with more people :)
some parts are nice but others trully sucks so... pighead...

The truth is even in a PII350, the sound player doesn't eat any significative cpu %. The fact is that it is a first demo, with lots of it partycoded, and that it is not optimized.
And *I don't care* about it because we'll do better demos in a future; simply consider it like is. And follow our trajectory ;)
i mean, that *would* absorb all the power you need for instructing your card to draw a few sprites and lowpoly objects, right? :)
added on the 2004-01-18 11:52:20 by superplek superplek
impulse tracker stated around 54 channels O:-)
it might be a first-timer, but i'd stick to that p2-350 for a while. just to run into trouble, to discover that a p2-350 hosts a lot of power already.
added on the 2004-01-18 11:53:46 by superplek superplek
the main reason for it to be so slow is that it runs in the same resolution that you have the desktop.
I started a "final version" which fixes it but I can't finish it because my radeon is a bit "burned" O:-) (I've seen too many demos I think...)
yeah, doing a displaymode switch is so hard :\
added on the 2004-01-18 12:30:53 by superplek superplek
it's really hard when you can't view anything in the screen and don't know if the objects still appear where they should be.
have you read it? the radeon is burnt! i can't view anything that need the gpu!
so I'm not going to tell anything more about this issue. Let's speak about other topics!
ripping gfx sux.

which gfx has been ripped, nosfe?
The module is one of the most heavy (too much channels?) among with some truly good tunes from Acumen I got on my disk. Proof1? Winamp sucks the OS in the old PC when I play them. Also, with this slow module I accidentally discovered that there are much faster and less known players than Winamp, moduleplug player actually (The one that came with a tracker if I recall well) where even the heavier module gives me enough CPU left in this crappy PC. I now use Modplug player for modules and Winamp for MP3s.
