This is beautiful in every possible way. Rendering is amazing. 3D assets is really top of the range. However this is way too static. I hope to see another one with that quality and some more movements.

Some scenes definitely work better than others and I agree with nytrik about the staticness. However, for a first demo with such an ambitious scale, this is very admirable work. Can't wait to see what you'll do next.

Some impressive modeling and texturing intially, huge props for this as its very rare to see groups actually making their own art nowadays! Seemed like the quality and fidelity dropped quickly though, after that first scene things looked a bit rushed. Lighting especially was pretty poor throughout. And I agree with Nytrik, its a very static and overall boring 3d flyby in the end.

Bevelled ape: massive thumb for your post. I know how hard it is to get 4th with such a production. I bet you spent K hours on this. Your prod is Ace is so many ways ! You will blow everything away next time for sure ! Keep it up. It’s really a true step forward for the demoscene to have such an amazing team on board!

On the good side, a lot of 3D content (most of it really good, if a bit uneven in quality); on the not so good side, it ran awful, the music wasn't exactly exciting, and while there was probably a story being told, it didn't feel like it was coming through? (Though maybe it didn't really want to - which is fair.)

Funnily enough the screenshot is horribly misleading and is probably one of the worst looking shots of the demo...?

Some of the colors and models are very off compared to others creating a disjointed experience. It's a flyby, but overall I appreciate the effort.

Wow, great stuff. Rendering, textures, models really ace quality.
I suggest you guys focus on improving your cameras. If you want a realistic looking demo, use realistic cameras. We are trained primarily by movies and TV in what realistic cameras are.
The space station camera was great.
The top down shots all LOOKED great, but I didn't understand what captured those shots. Orbital velocity would be much much faster.
The forwards moving cameras again I did not understand. What is moving forward?
The camera shake on the drones passing was a little WTF, but maybe that was because the scale of the drones was not clear.
Congratulations on a great demo and a great placement in the compo.

Crazy good looking 3D assets, it renders well, landscapes are great.
It failed to pierce my heart other than the first part though. The music doesn't own me, could probably have better post processing (I know I have extreme taste about color grading 😅), and you probably could have the unsettling "magnetic" motif more throughout the prod.
Still it's my favorite throughout the compo!

The rendering is really REALLY good. Seriously impressive temporal stability on basically everything, even with tricker stuff like heavy DoF. Lighting/shadows (where applicable) work as expected, nice materials etc. The glitch effects also look and move nicely. Great work.

As for the artistic side, yeah it's pretty incoherent, camerawork isn't great, and I struggle to really be captured by it as a whole.

For a first demo, tho, I'd say this is very impressive and unexpected, and I'm looking very much forward to future prods!

I also want to applaud the 3D work here, the assets and textures are definitely high quality.

it's really nice (despite the quite depressing topic – though a necessary conversation); textures' so crisps; music is surprising coming from med, quite well done.

filling up my list for the website with the missing entries, this been in it since then. It really is an amazing piece, now that i read its a "1st1" ... i am totally not discouraged lol but it makes me realize not all of us can be a fairlight, brozai, gargaj or the likes (and many others whos egos i dont wanna bust).
I dont theres anything to apologize for if this is a primer but i doubt its the first program ever written. Own models, no ai?

This is some serious amount of high quality content, with a really nice rendering to present it. The first scene feels like a modernised fr-063 Magellan, but then it does to follow its own direction.
The prod is a bit uneven, with some very high quality where you can tell it was polished to bits, but falling to average at times.
This is quite a start, I'm definitely looking forward to the next prod.

the visual quality of this (esp. the texture work) is amazing and it has so much content. really like it, one of my favs from 2023
