indeed
Piggie for the effort (there surely went a lot of work into this thing) but it wasn't my cup of tea. Bit surprised it won. I mean congratulations and all but it wasn't my first pick at the party. *cough* Tried to rewatch it to see if I maybe missed something everyone was raving for but the download link is broken?
This. Rocks. Deserved winner on my list :)

Nicely done! Refreshing to see a polished production with good transitions!
worthy winner! great work!
Great art direction here, and not your usual "orange/blue warm/cold" color scheme. It feels like a world that wants to be explored and conveys the feeling that there are layers of meaning beneath the surface. The seamless transitions give it a lot of flow.
The morphing buildings reminded me of a science fiction novel I once read, which described a "broken" city that went defunct because the nano machines intended for configurable housing/architecture had some sort of bug or virus, thus behaving in dangerous, unpredictable ways.
The fluid effect in the last shot is a feast for the eyes. Emphasizing the sense of scale by putting some birds over it always works! :D
Special plus for that banging soundtrack, with all the playful detail in the percussion.
Top prod!

Love!
A gorgeous looking and sounding journey.
Enjoyed this one very much. It has a kinda ASD feeling about it.
Very impressive amount of things printed on the screen !
great and smooth transitions from scene to scene (effect to effect). I really loved it being art'sy (yet not too fart'sy). this can be hypnotising from time to time. Definitively I'll rewatch it.
Really good, well designed and smooth. Big plus for keeping attention to details and smooth transitions instead of going all in for tech stuff.

FlareTic.app crash event name CLR20r3. Hope this means something and let me know if you want more info o/
Absolutely fantastic in every way!
Cool vibes.
There's a lot of good work in the visuals and hoo boy that soundtrack. But at 2/3 felt like the demo started to slap more things on the pile to the point that it would never come to an end.
O_o--b
I really loved A World Without Lights. This is a worthy sequel, it didn't wow me as much(maybe because of the flow?), but the effects/composition are top notch.

Pretty nice visuals!
Nice!
Solid demo, and a well deserved win!
I saw a screenshot of glowing mushrooms and was kind of hoping for a proper GOA DEMO!!! but no psytrance here, instead there is a great house track by Alkama over a collage of visuals that felt a bit arbitrary but still has a lot of nice stuff in it - some fluid simulation, some playing with geometry, a bunch of cool transitions... overall a good show.
Nice!
Really neat prod! Design/colors & 3D effects are amazing. The white-liquid-paints on the balls is so real! Congratz for this 1st place.
Very much like.
yes
Cool
Such a wonderful journey!
Superb stuff! There's so much going on that I don't honestly know how someone could make all of this. The soundtrack could probably win 1st place in the demo compo even if just played on top of a black screen
Liked it
What more needs to be said than "rulez"?
polygons <3
amazingly dreamy music by alkama of course and gorgeous scenes! The only downside is that the scenes are a bit disconnected at times - some more work on the transitions would have elevated this demo to perfection.
still one of my favourite demos of 2022 so far - the last scene is especially nice!

that was some massive experience in front of the big screen. love the visuals and the soundtrack is a perfect fit.
Nice.
Amazing one shoot(kind) of effect(s) and lovely minimal tech music !! 😃
a very, very good prod. I love every gimmick in detail. also alkama's solid enjoyable track :+1:
nice, esp. the track
Clearly a labor of love :) A nice watch.

We are particularly delighted that this year's nominees for the "Best Demo" award present such a diverse bunch, as they truly show off the amazing creative variety that the demoscene has to offer. Each nominated production has pushed the envelope in their own way, and we couldn't be more thankful for these contributions.
One demo, however, has managed to stand out from the rest, capturing our imaginations and transporting us to a captivating world of its own. This masterful piece of work boasts a striking visual design, with camera paths that perfectly showcase the mesmerizing scenes and effects. The lighting and colors are meticulously crafted, accentuating the beauty of the presented world. The soundtrack is nothing short of delightful - infusing a sense of joy and wonder into the experience. Seamlessly blending 2D and 3D elements, it features breathtaking transitions that draw the viewer further into its enchanting realm.
It is now time to reveal the winner of this year's "Best Demo" award, a shining example of the artistry that can be achieved when creative minds are unleashed. Ladies and gentlemen, fellow demosceners, the award goes to "Return, by Rebels & Calodox"! Congrats!
This is certainly a good demo but it did not impress me as much as for instance "Happiness is around the bend". Of course this judgment is purely subjective.
ok
Congratulations for the well deserved accolade.
Even though the technical magic happening under the hood might not be obvious, your tech seems to be quite unique and very different from the popular trends of the Scene. I especially appreciate what you do with polygon geometry generation, and I think it alone deserves thumbs, even more so in an area that is way under explored in my opinion.
