obligatory thumb. I'll write a more elaborate comment when I try it at home

This looks incredibly fantastic.
Love it, top rendering quality.
Where are the ducks?
Looks great
Looks like a reel photo
Very clean and nice :)
slick 😍
YES
Nice NVidia based rendering in 4k.
Jaw, meet floor. Flawless execution.
neato!
love the lighting also
Looks awesome, but why is this nvidia-only? What does it use?
Nuclear: I think it's tested to work for the propreitary NVidia only, but 'might' work with others as well. Will check it thoroughly once I'm awake.
realistic!
Fantastic image!
Perfect!
tastes awesome
Neat
Content and rendering perfectly matching together, well deserved winner
Fantastic
It's sooo pretty!

yeah, I say "nvidia graphics" because that's the only hardware I've tested on. however I've had at least one person say it works on their AMD RX550 so it probably works on amd just fine too!
Yea. Works on my AMD Ryzen 5 2500u Laptop with free OpenSource AMD driver (mesa) and Mageia 7 as Distibution.
Thank you for your Linux Release!
Deserved winner!
incredible, love this.
Everything about this is awesome, you've created such convincing shading without path tracing, and the technical detail you lavished on the waves really pays off... I wish I could understand it! The composition and story is brilliant too.
Thank you so much for putting your code online, I had no idea this was a Linux prod until now, I managed to build and run it on my crappy integrated graphics machine (though I had to remove __builtin_unreachable).
Your code is super clean; having a readable, solid, working example of linux procedural gfx like this is the holy grail to me right now!
You might want to add it to the list on https://github.com/in4k

Fantastic! But also what TomCat said:-D
Really deserved the win. Quite different from some of the usual executable graphics and looked great on the big screen.
The screenshot looks a little dark, but the hall also had lower lighting so maybe it just happened to seem a little brighter there.

Me to my friend, during the compo: "Ok somesome made a mistake and submitted his photo to the Procedural Graphics Compo.". ;-)
This is an amazing graphic. Great work!
Out of curiosity I ran it on my Intel i7 with Intel HD Graphics 630 and was surprised to see it work. :) Resulting image looked pretty good too!

Code:
$ SAMPLES=1000 ./shipping
render time: 83.995607
Everyone on board? Awesome stuf!
wow
Well deserved win. Good composition and near perfect rendering.
Absolutely fantastic; was nice to get to talk to you as well!
Amazing.
Simple, beautiful
My personal favorite of the compo.
Just wonderful.
Just wonderful.
very realistic, well done!
♥
Great quality. Renders in ~8 seconds on my RTX 2070.
One issue: When I run it, it goes fullscreen but doesn't actually seem to change the resolution. So I get a 1280x720 image in the lower left corner of my 3840x2160 display.
Also, do the rules really permit linking to FFTW? That would seem sort of odd in a size competition like this.

Sesse: you're allowed to use any packages that come with the specified Linux distribution, in this case Ubuntu 18.10 (and also SDL?). Someone can clarify further.
The rules said that the compomachine is/was running Ubuntu Desktop 18.10, and only the packages installed by default, plus the proprietary NVidia drivers, were available. This means no SDL, but you do get every package in this list, and libfftw is in there.

nice.
Perfect.
Just made a windows port, because I think this production should have one. In case you are interested and want to check it for correctness feel free to contact me on IRCnet - porocyon knows where to find me. Nevertheless the GPU 2D FFT implementation needs a little debugging, the resuilt is close, but not exactly the same as what FFTW3 produces.
Oh, and there is a nasty division by zero (x = 0, y = 0 => k = 0) which FFTW3 seemingly just ignores. ;)

AWESOME!
Super nice!
outstanding!
great one!!
Yeah - I could have mistaken this from being a photo!
It's amazing
Very nice!
Very pretty!
too realistic to be a 4k procedural graphic
nice
This generated imagery in 4K is phenomenal, even by contemporary graphic visual standards.
I have not shown enough respect for this.
By 2019, it was getting really, really lonely in the *nix sizecoding front, and I have to commend PoroCYon and blackle for joining the fray.
It's a good entry by itself. But more than that, it's amazing to not be alone anymore, after ~15 years. Thanks.

So beautiful!
wow...
Mh my thumb's missing, this is great :)
looks amazing! great design and execution
This is one of my favourites. It is very inspiring. Great idea and so beautiful.
The title of the prod is quite witty.
Oh, the 4k photorealistic image is also kinda cool, I guess :-)
