"This musicdisk features a POKEY soundchip simulator for the SID chip. The songs were written by Rob Hubbard for various Atari 800/XL games and I have tried to simulate them as accurately as possible without samples. All tracks playback in real-time using the original drivers and my wrapper converts the POKEY registers to the SID.

Only certain POKEY configs can be simulated, but then only certain distortion types can be simulated as well so this is as far as I can go with it.

Visuals are in the style of old '86-era Compunet demos. (my favourite)"

Not perfect emulation but...GREAT! Amazing job all the dudes!.

A couple of retunement and it WILL emulate POKEY in 99,99999%.
Warhawk, IK (shorter version than on the C64), JSW (never released on ANY other computer), The Extirpator (simply - amazing!!).

Thank you for this reelase!

As A8 bunny funny to see and hear that this way around... Normally we have sid2a8 ;).

Well done and shows me how often I listened to the songs in the 80s and how disappointed I was when first listened to Warhawk eg on ST or C64 ;)

Great achievement, congratulations. Always nice to see someone fiddle with sound drivers.

Wow, this is amazing! I was actually thinking about doing something similar for ZX Spectrum's AY chip, but never got to a serious stage.

It would actually be nice if you could do a brief write-up about what you've done to achieve this and also what corners had to be cut :)

And it's in old style assembly-coding. Good work.

Crayz idea - not as crazy as the SID emulator for the Atari, of course :-)
