Hm someone asked for results on FB and first I wrote you and then I had to change to Coppernicus, now I understand that it was a tie, actually I voted for both+Ministorm :)

Have to be honest and say Coppernicus visuals were best or most interesting of compo but big thumb for A500 version (as I knew) and because it's nice to hear samples in a bootblock, 3 minutes to generate, hm I can't visualize the code for that :D I guess something like in Ikadalawampu (?)

I very much like Coppernicus style more (total opposite) but have to admire the music in 1k together with effects.

The synth uses phase modulation with decays on all parameters, so that requires several high-precision multiplications per sample.

But actually, most of the precalc time is spent on the graphics. The spiral is drawn as parametric curves (which are then blitter filled), and the sample points have to be close enough to leave no pixel gaps. For simplicity (every bit counts, you know), each line of the other patterns have the same number of sample points as the spiral. :)

Seeing and hearing this without knowing what it is, I would have never guessed that it could be a bootblock intro... unbelievable!

Whoa, that's a totally neat beat and a great FM Synth going on here! I could imagine something like that in a Sega Genesis game! And the fact that it's a kilobyte... Damn this rules!
