VBI, don't you know of F9/alt-F9 feature in unreal emulator? Or (alternatively) alt-S [all in debugger]. With those keys you can easily track ray intersections in unreal. Border troubles seem to be caused by outputting to wrong ports, though I haven't looked at that in debugger. And finally, your 3-layer animation has periodic jerking.

VBI, aren't you crazy? You outputs to port $06 instead of $FE! F$%# you! Also in greets part ray intersection happens somewhere at $AC00..$AD00 code range.

Port $06 is because of LD B,$FE instead of LD C,$FE. Easy to fix.
