Good thing I've started coding on the Atari 8-bitters, because now I know enough to be amazed by the vertical bars.

Yes, with Rybags' VSCROLL trick to defeat the badlines. Only the first line is actually fetched from RAM, then the same buffer is reused without Ataris "irregular" DMA spoiling all the fun. That's what I meant with "good pattern" :-)
No doubt this effect is very impressiive for the most experienced Atari coders. Every beginner can code horizontal rainbow bars. No-one managed to do this vertically until this. Respect!
