Hmmmm, some 3D scenes but only in software engine, it is look like intro from 1997. 003 was very very better intro from Foobug
i think i would appreciate it alot more if it was accel

Why?
rulez added on the 2001-08-06 23:54:53 by DiamonDie DiamonDie
mm yeah accel or atleast being able to choose screen resolution

a bit eventless intro all in all (as opposite to 003:))

altho the music is superb and really sets you in the right mood to watch these kind of scenarioflyby'thingies

+water-in-pool-scene was cute :)
added on the 2001-08-08 03:35:24 by jelly jelly
oh, forgot to mention that seeing this intro is very similiar to 3state's 'sonnet' in style, i have to say that this one should've won asm01 for the music alone (sonnet soundtrack kinda sucked :))
added on the 2001-08-08 03:37:29 by jelly jelly
all i can say is - GREAT music. never heard something compareable in a 64k before. turn off your screen (the visual things aren't that impressive) and listen...

The music is very good, but that's pretty much it. Nothing very impressive visual stuff. That underwater scene is nice, but nothing else really impresses me. Just another 3d-flyby.

Some nice 3d scenes, some poor ones, some nice particles, good music but generally very slow in a Celeron 350hz I tried it. Ok,.. I think I will try to run it again in some monster machine just to enjoy it..

Well.... Good intro !!!
But, little slow on my PIII 500 / GeForce 2 MX / 256 Mo ???
Accelerated version ????? ;-)
rulez added on the 2001-10-10 20:29:18 by Stv Stv
just to clear some things:
making a 3d-hardware accelerated version wouldn't speed up the intro at all, as it's the synth that's eating all the cpu time. and don't even bother trying to run this one with <450MHz processors :)
added on the 2001-10-10 21:40:11 by ld0d ld0d
but it's borring!
more of that 003 stuff please!
sucks added on the 2001-10-10 23:28:57 by superplek superplek
what superplek said.

+

faster or not faster, it would have looked tons better in opengl with some proper shading/light sourcing.
sucks added on the 2001-10-11 08:26:23 by _ _
Yeah! But I love software :)
If it runned smoothly as it is in software it would be more impressive and exciting for me than if it runned accelerated where it should be much easier to make it smooth and I wouldn't be excited at all unless it has something else to offer than just 3d..
added on the 2001-10-11 09:31:17 by Optimus Optimus
The intro it's good, and the engine is acceptable. (It runs quite smooth on my PII 300 + g200)
The only *noticeable* lack is the design... for example the opening scene is quite..

herm...

strange.

For the rest, the pyramid scene with the water pool it's fine, also the underwather scene (my preferred) and the voxel too.

With just a bit more design it could be a good intro.

Who cares if it's accell or not ? And why ?? But mainly : did some1 seen my tapiro storm ?
added on the 2001-10-11 10:24:25 by rIO rIO
I like the music and the underwater-scene. The rest looks a bit too chunky for my taste and the stuff in the pyramid doesn't really add anything. Still, pretty good!

ehm.. i want those 0% cpu taking pollyfillers!
or atleast write a tutorial for flipcode!
sucks added on the 2001-10-11 12:49:59 by Hatikvah Hatikvah
seriously, the only good thing is the underwater part. The rest looks way too goofy (expecially the pyramid and the textures there). The synth is ok also...
added on the 2001-10-11 15:06:31 by dixan dixan
lator:
use fewer polys ;-D
the synth uses about 80% cpu time on my celeron300A, so there isn't much left for the rendering pipeline. runs fine on a p3/700.

Some nice transition ideas here, but the pacing is sloooooow... I fell asleep.
an intro wich looks like a demo
particules + scene, a little travel
i like the end isle
music is good
rulez added on the 2001-10-23 01:03:10 by Zone (leZone) Zone (leZone)
I liked advance of the scene of this demo.
However, the advance speed of a scene was a little slow.;)
I think that only it is very sorry.:)

(I will want to look at, if accel version is also made.)
rulez added on the 2001-11-03 04:27:03 by got got
Hey, it seems we had the same idea (see my first intro - 3GYPT)!

I love the island scene: the green-noisy texture gives a perfect image of forestry (even at that low resolution).
this prod makes me wonder if the coolness of 003 design was not intentional, but luck.

music is good.

Well, there were different people involved with the design of these two prods...

I don't get it...everybody is cheering when a sorry-assed HW intro fails on nearly every aspect of greatness, but when a nicely done SW intro comes along everybody starts whining that it's not HW.

Wonderful music. Graphics are bit lowres, but it beats some other HW intros silly.

and still i think it sucks :)

This was great. And I can't imagine this being any better in accelerated...

ld0d can code what ever and how ever he wants...

Just reviewing stuff for my next demoshow(s) and this is definitly a nice intro :)

cool... but pixels are very big...
is it a C64 adaptation ?

Mellow music.
i liked that. it's pretty lowres (especially the voxels - 160x200 or what?), but the engine is really nice (bilinear interpolation, not many software renderers do that). it's also cool that everything's just one scene (no cuts). the flying dot gives the intro some kind of coherence.

Forgot to thumb up. Now it's a really nice watch in a modern fast PC!
rulez added on the 2003-02-08 15:27:09 by Optimus Optimus

its rather ugly, also lores shows and its not even smooth on my c600 but awesome muzik and nice demoish atmosphere.. so, me likes and thats it..

well hmm... underwater scene and music rocks!

..rest of the intro is horrible.. :X, well, the intro is ok (?)

The little story and the well done tune in one corner, the cpu burning and some slightly ugly textures in the other... fight... uhm, the positive aspects win. :)

I love the soundtrack and synth, but I feel there is quite a contrast in the quality of the scenes. The water and ending isle are pretty good for example, but the pyramid is kind of ugly. Oh, and the textures suck :-)
Overall a pretty nice intro.
