I LOL:ed ;D. Can't believe that the mIRC script language has evolved this much since the mid 90:ies when I last used it :).

If there's some way to have a seperate download for the video and the demo, I'd like to know, because it's a bit inconvenient having to download >400MB for just the demo.

Mhmm, so you do some ugly "old school" effects in scripting language A, and everyone is like "bah, that sucks" (pc demo compo) and the same thing for scripting language B and everyone is like "fuck, yeah"?

Pouet is a fickle beast indeed. ;)

Cool, and with the newfound scene interest this might result in the author of mIRC getting the 12th registration ever.

I have seen some effect previews in mirc script from another scener before. If I hadn't I would be wondering how or what with this one.

RRR: Only reason I used it was because this was the best we could fit in at the last minute. If that upsets you so much, sorry.

The video looks amazing in VLC 1.1.4 on my messy XP-machine. Fucked beyond repair. Lovely. Gritty scrolltext noise! Hooray! Is it only me that gets this bonus aesthetics?

Which version of mIRC? By the date the last version is 6.35, but don't work!

"Youtube will follow soon". 6 ***YEARS*** is your definition of "soon"? Fortunately, someone at the event got it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqm3_sT5yfA so I don't have to deal with a ***1GB*** AVI... 1GB, really? Encoded at 200FPS? Seriously dude...

Tried and failed to run on: 6.35, 7.1, 7.36 and 7.45. Followed the instruction to the letter. Always get a green window with the very *clever and funny* "precalculationizing" with the white dots that goes on forever. It never finish the precalc. Even tried in with 6.35 in Virtualbox under Windows XP, with the demo folder in C: as per the instruction, still does not work. In every instances, throw the error "* /sleep: not connected to server (line 791, no_future.mrc)"

Anyone here was able to actually run this code???
sucks added on the 2016-08-03 03:17:41 by ramon ramon
I can assure you that at the time I ran this, it worked. I never was able to upload to youtube because I lacked the decent internet connection, and at this point I didn't think anyone would care that much. It's not that great anyway.

The incredibly large capture file was because that was the only way I was able to decently capture a non-DX/OGL window at the time.

Anyway, quick debuggin shows that line 791 in no_future.mrc should have been "dmSleep" rather than "sleep". My bad.
