shrOOm, hi quality one works fine here (to answer your nfo). ati hd4650. amd 64 dual core. So, result!
Both work on an ati hd4870 XP SP3!
Supercool effect
crashes like a wasted whore here.
`
Hate me as much as you want, I couln't care less. Not my fault that your intro crashes here, isn't it? And how it is "a rant" I fail to understand as well, care to elaborate? And about this "restart coding yourself", well, no comment either! And I know someone who should get a life, a certain drunkard who tells other ppl to kill themselves. Have a nice day.
Most splendid
Yeah, like you know me. Sure thing. And still, I couldn't care less what you think about me, you don't know me, not at all. And it still isn't my fault that your intro crashes here which I just mentioned in a more or less funny way. If you can't understand that, your fault! Anyway, you got your attention that you're so desperately craving for so I won't comment on this any more.
The intro is horribly slow. :(
that wasn't a funny comment
Works fine on ATI Radeon 2600 HD Series. A little bit slow but that is ok for this old card. Music stops playing after some time. That's why I prefer to use precalculated sound. Yes, it is too long but it allows to enjoy the music to people like me with slow computer.
artbomb: there shouldn't be any vendor specific issues on the source level of hlsl - the (first) compiler is the same in both cases. It's only in opengl where the glsl syntax parser is vendor specific.
Performance is fine in the provided (lowres;) versions. colors are..

doesn´t _RUN_ in windows7...( JUST CRASHES ! )
Music plays, but screen is black. Windows 7/Nvidia.
looks very good
Neat, it runs fine on Win 7 with nVidia 8800.
kool
Hardy: XP SP3 on Core 2 Duo, 9500 GT. Framerate I get varies between 0.25 and 1 FPS. (I know I have a budget card, but it's a mid-2008 budget card.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1FMrowCEj0&fmt=22 HD cap for all y'all crashin niggas
trippy as hell!
worx fine here on win7 64bit nvidia gts250
a bit repetitive - but trippy :)
what macaw said + runs here (win7 64bits gtx260)
Slightly chaotic :P
Great, worked too on 7/64 amigaaaaa!!! :p
Rather chaotic, and the music helps that impression along...
well, that's why i said for the guys who crash, cos its better than nothing at least
for the sound and the tech..
Saw the YouTube-video. Too long, getting tired of this rendering technique when nothing special is being done, and the music was very, very bad. Still, piggie.
I've also seen the video now and agree with gloom.
Quote:
bad music? i dont think so...its 4k you know ;)
And? I've heard great music in 4k before. This just isn't good.
Quote:
but yes: too much reverb and stuff...
No, it's just not good. Reverb has nothing to do with it (although, now that you mention it, it doesn't help, no)
i think you at least owe him something constructive now that you've told him three times his music is bad :P
Sure. The music is very repetitive (two notes repeating through the entire track, with a few exceptions), cliché melody that shows no real musical skill. The drums sound hollow and dry. Drowned in (bad-sounding) effects.
In other words: bad.
In other words: bad.
Da geht noch was!
Think it was ok, not fabulous, but it's good enough for me for a 4k
Looks just like any other 4k nowadays just less imaginative and with much uglier colors.
yet the effect and camera are gorgeous
nice, up!
boring visuals.
the music does not sound very good but the melody is ok for 4k, I kind of like it.

Nicey.
Haha, 20 comments from the author himself. Cheers!
Chill dude... You are acting very undude!
You need to chill the fuck down.

"Chill dude... You are acting very undude!" :D:D:D
I find it cool...enven the music
+ effekt, - - music
nice music, test effect works fine here (8800GTS)
everything was ok
I've made up my mind now.
- Ultramonotonous music with some unpleasant background effect going on
- Stupid hardware requirements
- Boring to watch for more than five seconds
- Single effect with little design is not a proper release
- Yet another raymarching-in-a-shader 4k. Seen it a thousand times already.
- Scarab sucks, but you're not allowed to hate Stingray.

I like it.
The music was unpleasing for me as well and now I would never thumb down anything because of the person behind it, but turns out in this case I can make an exception. Sorry, shr00m but here's your well-deserved thumb down for being such an attention whore.
What Decipher and doom said, with the exception that I acknowledge your progress in the pc 4k scene. But one thing is for sure, raymarching for 4ks is just dead. Been there, done that, nobody's going to be impressed. Bring new stuff.
raymarched fmod-ed rings and twisted columns, with reflections. When is this going to stop??? Pleeeease.
Ok, now that we know you can code 4k intros, go make a 4k intro so you feel proud of winning tUM again. You surely can.

didnt like the track. if i overlook the 3-4 fps on my actual machine its quite ok.
:)
:)
to cancel out the resident troll: Doom
if my 2600xt can do 5-10fps on this, then any $150 gpu can run this fine
if my 2600xt can do 5-10fps on this, then any $150 gpu can run this fine
crashes on win7 x64
I think you can code sth better, being a member of TRSI...
well, okish
muza ok
Colorful and works well on my ATI Radeon 4870 (512 MB) video card, Catalyst driver v9.7, and updated Windows XP Pro. SP3.
sound works, white screen though
