The z-fighting on some gfx cards is a known problem, but it was already after the deadline when I noticed it on a different card (this was developed on Radeon HD 3650 and it worked fine). I'll try to rescale the geometry or make adjustments to zNear and zFar.
I see that some things should be sorted out; the compo was to code an effect, not a full demo or an intro. Even the music wasn't required at all. Compo theme was: "Crazy checkerboard" (any interpretation).
And yes, I'm aware that what you can see here could be done in 4kB. The question is, will it be possible to code the final version in 4kB? :)

How to make this 4k: You can do the scene with very few vertices. Store the buildings, size optimize your shader. That could work, but it won't be as easy as it looks :)

yeah, taxis are out of place, or out of colour here. even if you do it with coloured taxis, then maybe you should add some more coloured elements along the trip - ribbons or whatever. anyway, it has nice vibe in here.
Looks like average-designed 4k demo but takes 10 Mbytes of hard drive space. I do not thumb it down only because I like scy-scrapers.
