classic!
the one that started it all !!!!!
legend ! classic !
legend ! classic !
The original.
without this, i would have a different hobby today
Iconic.
BASS!
I'm not sure but i think the subsequent soundtrackers (tjc, defjam, doc etc.) were based on the demo version which was disassembled by charlie of megaforce (it was just the interface with a song already pre-loaded).
of course!
Possibly one of the greatest piece of software ever created on any computer.
Oh yeah. The legend. Although one can argue if not Soundmon by Chris Hülsbeck actually started it all (historically correct).
Legendary!
This is what got me in to tracking. I used Dynamic Drums before this. Totally awesome!
as a hardcore tracker, i must approve of this =)
poor karsten obarski, since everyone raped his tracker, and big thanks, it gave so much joy to the scene
insufficient thumbs
Absolutely!
Totally forgot about the pattern headers :)

Ahhh...memories.... :)
I started 1991 with DOC-Tracker, then I used Startrekker, all these were derivatives of Soundtracker.
What just came into my mind: Had Soundtracker been a commercial product (when it had been released 1987) or was it freeware? Never thought about that...

*shrieek!* oh god. I remember this.. not very fondly though :D
Yeeaah, memories. I played around with it in early '88 and started with DOC Soundtracker 2.0 few months later. Great concept of Music edition.
Skyrunner: It was a commercial prod.

My first Soundtracker was 2.X (can't remember which) but thumbs for this of course.
The Soundtracker of all the next trackers, that was just a "simple" copy. :)
Just like the original guitar, that other ones was just a copy.

I never used this one (started with 2.0 probably) but... it's A LEGEND!
Sire has a point, Soundmonitor on c64 paved the way for this
\o/
Awesome stuff! I actually started with MED (not Octamed) when it came free on the cover of a mag my dad bought. I then started to learn more about the demo scene through PD and finally got to Noisetracker and subsequently ProTracker...
There days I'm a Cubase user.... oh and still a devoute ProTracker user!

Oldschool
Release date is December 1987.
Anyone know the first version publicly released/reviewed in (paper or disk) mags? Maybe someone even has it and could upload? :)

The computer musicians' VisiCalc and as such an important and respectable software artefact.
Oh well
A milestone!!! :)
never actually used this, but the legacy is everywhere
The Beginning
Added 2 replay routines (one public and one which seems to be a pre-release) inside the archive.
Seems it's the first one?
Anyway the mere idea is utterly cool! :-D

The grandfather of all things tracker. Legendary. My first encounter must have been Soundtracker 2.x in 1987 and I was blown away. The Amiga was utterly impressive back then.
Added the preview version (kickstart 1.2 only) which was released in november 1987, it features a single song and nothing can be loaded or saved.
Legend thumb!
Respect and love!
Epic !

if this prod is a fake, some info is false or the download link is broken,
do not post about it in the comments, it will get lost.
instead, click here !
I didn't knew there was a preset edition. I couldn't load any tunes or sound. (maybe there's a kind of structure on the disk?)
Rulez of course!
