and its partly glammy!
i checksummed and came up to:
70% Coders
40% Deziners
50% Glam
10% DXM (ff00ff quote in the end)

just one thing.. how can the amigas being turned off running demos? i havent seen any amiga with broken diod's so i guess your amiga is very funky being able to run demos shut turned off and all :D
very nice :)
not exactly a candidate as "demo of the year" -- but definitly nice.
Some of the scenes in here was waaaay to simple and the colours was what i would call "an approximation to the dutch color scheme".

The best release at Remedy and the best demo i've seen from AMC. Lots of nice effects, especially the remakes of the old demos effects. Mempherias music really fits the demo.
When I saw it .mpgged I assumed it was because it was an Amiga demo, since the routines weren't particularly great for a PC demo... Oh well. At least I can appreciate the 40% Dezin!
and the 10% DXM factor wich we all know you love :-)
glammin'
(the "oldskool trip" sucked btw ;)

love oldscool!!!!!!
hey ,i want those wireless amigas and c64s :)
stefan: on the older amiga 500's the the powerled had just two states, on and off. turning on (or off?) the filter turned off the power-led. newer models had 3 states, off, low and high intensity. (or am i completely wrong now?)
the new amiga's (like my lame a600) indeed showed the filter-state using low and high intensity.
I don't know why, but for some reason I enjoyed watching this demo quite much. Combines a few very classic design elements and has a nice overall flow.
very cool. but why in software? ;)
glam, design and glam.. i give you a piggie!
design wasn't particularly inspired (or inspiring) IMHO, and besides that, it's really damn slow.
they could atleast have used bilinear filtering...

Well, it was alright. Oldschool in a positive way.
That was really nice! :-)
I think the music changes in the computer room are a little off, but that's a minor oversight. And software rendering is good. Finally, it seems to me amc guys love blue/purple, which happens to be ok with me. :-)

That idea with the Amiga's room was preety fun and lovely!!! Though, I won't thumb up since it seems to be preety slow even in lores mode in my current hardware configuration, thus destroying the whole demo. Perhaps I will be able to enjoy it in any friend of mine with a monster PC..
Well I like it... Can't really judge the speed of the code on my system... It ran nicely here, and it was accurate...
The overall atmosphere was rather oldskool... Like that in... mid-90s demos or so, I always love that :)
Yes, respect.

i have 384mb RAM, but still, even the first part is stuttering notably, and that's just a pumped up FD tunnel. (cpu is duron 650)
Very nice demo
i like the "plasma water effect". Great Demo
It is a bit better and more enjoyable in my brothers Pentium3/700Mhz. Of course several people may have monster PCs above 1Ghz, but these effects on this resolutions should run much smoother. It's a pitty cause the ideas and the effects are rather good!
nice one
thumb up :)
thumb up :)
beautiful!!!
sometimes it doesn't have the framerate i'd like to have, but this is so beautiful...
Hmm... I didn't really get a big kick from this -- the oldschool part is funny enough by itself, but except from that there's nothing really new, and "we can't fade while running an effect" doesn't look terribly amazing either :-) The alphamap scrolling down the cube looks cool as an effect on its own, and the framerate is smooth on my 1.2GHz PC, but except from that I can't really find anything exceptional in this demo. :-)
Very nice stuff and the idea with the oldskool demos just kicks! Also not *that* slow on my pIII-450, still enjoyable
Pretty good !
The nostalgia part is a really good idea.
The rendering is not fast as i'd like it to be, be still good ! continue like that guys !

Great prod!
this thing .. well i found it boring and the computers-part was kinda lame...
but that effect next to the endscroller, WOW, i *really* digged it

Well yes, I have an Athlon 1.4 GHz, and 512 mb + mega-overclocked GF2GTS (running 240 MHz core, 400 MHz memory)... It helps, a lot :)
Perhaps the code is indeed slow, but I didn't notice... But I think it's mostly the memory issue.
But there's an mpg: ftp://ftp.remedy.nu/incoming/R2002/PCDemo/arrival-by-amc.mpg
So if your PC is not fast enough, you can always try that.

its the old version tho, with lots of bugs ;-) (sucks)
very intresting....... but! I think i have to thumb it down!
I really enjoyed this cool demo. Nice effects, brilliant music, nice touches of design! The oldskool part could have been done better. Anyplace where i can find more music from the musician?
What's up with the comments about it being slow? it's already mighty smooth on this p3 500mhz. Anyway, this one got a little something in the atmosphere that makes me give it a weak thumb up..
It depends on how do you define "smooth" ;)
Just the music alone gets me going.
Great Show, And the Multi-Colored water is Beautiful.
Glad you ranked 1st.

It was fast enough on my 750 Athlon & Ati radeon 7200, 512Mb. Enjoyable production. The nostalgy scene was a good idea, but it was too long. But still, my thumb is up.
nice.
there also was few effects I liked.
the nostalgy part sucked tho.

MASSIVE!!! Hey guys just let me know how does it feel to kick all those hardware rendering freaks straight in the nuts? :)
a nice one, respect!!!

i kinda enjoyed the nostalgy part. Sure it looked quite crap but it managed to have a nice feeling.
i must say i liked it to, and most people i know likes it to... And as that part isnt the only part of the demo i cant say it sucks , it would be a different thing if it was the "only" thing of the demo.. but as stated above the plasma water and the last effect is quite cool aswell :-)
this is not a crappy we-wannabe-oldschool-by-doing-oldschoolalikeeffects-on-modern-pc
crap as many other stuff ;-)

The very BIG lake with fishes that swim around in it! And much Sprit shall be drunken so we go around and make funny stuff to people on boat so they think stupid people!!!!
Wtf this is like a webchat dude!
but it was
This was a decent demo, although I didn't really like the room full of A500s, and am not sure that scene fit in too well.
cheesy
now who is webchatting.
cheesy = rykande färsk grevé ost... någonting at äääta... någonting o DRICKA! från RIKSOST!

WHAT IS PEGASUS FAVOURITE FOOD???????????????
kebab, but be more imature oh and its in swedish btw ;-)
im always happy after watchin AMC prods,
i probably only like this because i remeber the intros imitated on the virtual amiga screens.. however, the other, less old-skewl, code looked nice, but since i have a 1.6ghz amd, it may not run as sweetly on lowgrade machines (and everything should run perfectly on 7.14 mhz damnit!)
Respect !!
KOOL Prod.

I simply love this demo. The Amiga tribute part is soooo nice <3<3. Yet I'd like to see Tint running on an A500 as seen here. :=)
Great demo!

It's a good demo now we have monster PCs and can watch it properly :)
