ok, the idea behind it isn't that bad at all, but if you want my honest opinion: this intro just sucks... even for 4k. sorry!
Fair comment. Hopefully we'll see some support for the idea, we have a load of coders who can contribute something worthwhile to the scene and by the same token I see lots of demos that are made with demo makers where the person submitting it has some gfx or music skills.. With luck it will see some new groups being born, talented guys like Rbraz / Gravity and Thygrion / Yup started off (and still contribute to) our community so there is a chance for lone guys to get a seriously dedicated and cool coder for thier projects instead of flooding the scene with OSDM shit.
at least the sound isn't that bad..
The goal is noble. The intro, sadly, is not.
i personally cant see how coder-pimping is much better than using demotools. the group is not just a bunch of gyus with a shared set of needed abilities, there's something more to it, i believe.
a haujobb [coder] is $20, you'll have pay another $10 to watch, so what guys, a deal ?

apricot: But how are you supposed to form a group without meeting other people somewhere? (coders are people too)
you see, "pimping" is for a reason there. it may sound strange but some people meet their gfs (wives later) without the aid of dating sites. hmmm... weird, eh ?
anyway, it's just my opinion, so you can just disregard it the moment you've read it. although it's nice to remember that rules are proven by exceptions.

ok
Its a good idea. miscians / graphicians can go there and hook up with some ppl who can code I like it
this doesn't inspire me
Piggy.
300 independant coders and you come up with smth this crappy?
works for me! and please Maali fuck off :)
I don't think it is that bad. Lacks content but it's still ok for not even 3k.
hrmm maybe downy later.
nuke: ditto whoever you are :)
maali: so it works for you too?
great idea btw! shockwave is not clearly as lamer as i thought ;)

bleh
Not fantastic/impressive as 4KB intro, but nice as tiny announcement, especially first one, 2.7KB, would be cool to show texts in more sophisticated way.
It's worth mentioning that dbfinteractive a forum for basic programmers. and 4k's shouldn use dll's IMHO.
basic so what?
skurk, you are wrong there. Basic languages are covered, but so are other languages like c , c++, asm, java, and even console homebrew stuff. And anyway, as uns3en says, "so what?"
Even if some stuff is written in basic, it doesn't matter, at least it is original code and not ripped off or made with someone elses demo tools.

seen some impressive darkbasic stuff .. or was it darkbasic .. anyway
this intro is just plain boring. and why the crappy screenshot?
the daily spam in my mail box is better
Thumbs up for making up the find a coder section. The intro is ok, the writer is nice, the cube inside cube reminds me of my first unreleased OpenGL stuff, the clipping bugs though are a bit ugly. I won't let the coder down and thumb this up, after all it's his 1st intro.
You all need to get off your fucking high pedestals and encourage benny and the DBF crew who trickle impressive new talents into the scene. I'm adding another string to my bow and taking the course with everyone there. Plus for a first <4k it was quite good. <3
What EMP said ^ 2 ! But u know that aint gonna happen its all about "them" Good one Benny keep it up.
in fact, instead of "bleh", my exact feeling about this one is "what preacher said"
I wouldn't be making demos had it not been for the DBF crew.
Woot for DBF!

Basically we love intros so very much that we want to offer you the services of over 200 programmers, if you are a lone gfxer or musician and you want an alternative to using lame demo tools then you should be looking at that to get a coder for your production. We have coders of all levels of ability, from newbie to master so you will defiantely be able to find someone to work with.
Thanks to Benny for making this intro, I appreciate it!
