no ps3 card here. video please. :)
that was fast, thanks for the video, iq! :) Nice 4k, quite impressive visuals. The music is a bit boring though.
cool technique :)
not bad. tune is bad, but somehow fitting :)
wowy
Ok...
I guess what's inside this prod so I think it's technically impressive. But I'm feelling pretty bad saying that the final result feels quite numb.
I respect Iq and RGBA as a whole quite a lot, but my pig comes here.

The blur is really great. I hate to start seeing demos that don't run on my machine :(
kinda interesting to see firsthand how much brute force number crunching power is available in current graphics cards :)
anyway, this is *really* short, so piggy i guess ;)

Pushing limits..first rayracer on gfx card prod so thumbs up. You say in readme it doesnt work on nvidias (or imply it) but I got an x1600 ati and it doesnt work here either.
"first rayracer on gfx card prod so thumbs up"
er, certainly not. i've seen some gpu-based raytracer in an intro (64k i think) back when ps2.0 was new, and half of the "high-tech" shaders people are doing nowadays involve some sort of raytracing. and there's also stuff like this, for example.

ryg, I know there is research, loads of it in fact, but isnt this the first _product_ to use raytracing on the gfx card? Raytracing mind, not raycasting.
i'm really quite certain that there was some ps2.0 only raytracing intro (64k or 4k, don't remember) a few years back, but i don't remember the name - can anyone help?
that said, i know there's a snooker game that calculates exact intersection points+normals in the pixel shader to get nicer shading - again don't know the name, but it does get mentioned regularly on the directxdev ml when someone tries out perpixel lighting with spheres and wonders why they don't look perfectly round :)

imo much more than enough for a 4k.
Runs quite smoothly here (Nvidia 6600GT).
Rulez!
Rulez!
GPGPU power!
hangs without displaying any visual on X1600 Mobility with latest drivers (I do think this board should have PS3.0... shouldn't it?)
ryg: the prod you mention is ps_2_0 by castrum doloris
not smoothy with my nv5900XT but quite impressive though, thumbup and fuckings to ps_3_0.
Seems like a technology show, but without an artistic side. Rulez anyway.
I'm a sucker for raytracing, and this looks quite solid indeed. But i would like to see it a little longer and some more content.
Not bad.
wow, visually impressive, but the rest didn't do much for me.
... and now we know what can be done, ...
hehe
hehe
very good raytrace.
but, unfinished work.
music is ok.
piggy... (I hope to your final work.)

You forgot to put a text on the intro saying what you were doing, like.. 'Look! only 2 polys!', or something like that. As I knew what you were doing I was able to go to the orgos and let them read the readme before voting ;)
Nice prod! I hope to see more 4k from you iq :)
trace, the orgos read the readme files and we knew what iq was doing. Who didn't read it were the people that were voting.

nice raytracer.. rather unspectacular content though.
hm i only get a grey background and music on my gf6600gt :/
I was totally amazed when mrkhaki aka. thepope managed to decrunch and wav-export the soundtrack almost immediately after the release :)
Heavy.
and oh, works great here on x1600pro.
so nice but too simple at all
nice
me like a lot
we'll done Iñigo!
A nice intro in 4k!!! has transitions and sincro! and looks pretty good! can you dare with a tiny implementation of your simple GI , in 4k next time? COOL!

watching this after the compo, noticed it has reflections from one object to another, which was subtle enough for the bigscreen not to notice it :)
Too bad that I can´t watch it yet...
bp: ok.. then, the orgos didn't told to the guys that were voting what iq said on the readme... better? :D
trace, i vote, and i read all readme files :)
btw, this prod rules!!!! :) maybe a little switch to wireframe would be enough to show show many polys are drawn :P

Nice
Next time... come to the party too, IQ.
VERY impressive
A bit boring, but the raytracer rules :)
A winner aswell!
all right :) - I see that you started to paint the walls too?
forgot the thumb
<3
Even if I expected a bit more as a whole (some parts are too repetitive, which I hate), I really liked it from the technical point of view.
doesnt do anything fancy for the technology that it requires. and i'd rather be able to actually watch it so here's your anti-hype thumb.
This is only the beginning :)
nice shader work in theory, but not as interesting for what it actually shows. (oh, and bad music)
looking forward to gpu raytracing being used for something more. :)

liked this one, except for the tunnel scene.
music is ok.
I have a x1600pro with latest drivers (6.9) which works fine. non-latest drivers didn't work.

really great! could be done in 256b.... joking. ;)
well done. nothing really new, but nice anyway.
Thumb up for the sync! Ran in software mode as i have a ps2 card, but the framerate was perfectly in time with the beat. Made it a lot more interesting than it would have been otherwise.
It didn't work on my XFX GeForce 6800 (AGP; 128 MB; v84.21 driver -- can't use 91.xx due to TV out problems). I got the white/gray screen as well.
Always provide a bigger safe mode exe or stop using .com packers. NOT working on Win64.

works just fine on my win64 box.
pretty nice.
ok, for 4kbs is good
Quote:
Providing a bigger "compatible" exe sucks a lot. Do it well, or don't release it.
You're my hero of the week.
Vista 64-bit (RC2) claims it's not a vaild Win32 application, hence I assumed .com or similar nasty tricks. Sorry. But this means that the packer is using behaviour that works by accident in XP/XP64, and is why I still think safemode exe should be included...
really nice stuff ;)
good minimalism. could have gone farther with the concept. and music makes me aggressive, though.
Amazing visuals.
Stylish indeed.
the future!
good work
bouring
:)
good work trying ray tracing. it's a test.
now make it beautiful.
now make it beautiful.
at least i could test ps3.0 with it, but the 4k is dull as fuck
nice
ok ok , thumb up !
rgba!
:D
cool, I haven't seen it before
Nice raytracing in 4k. But it lacks of soul. Pig face for me.
Looks great!
rocks
ugly, awful music.
