Hey what the hell. You guys are really disappointing me here. This addition was posted hours ago and I haven't heard any bitching or complaining about how big this pack is, or how the server speed sucks, etc...

Something is wrong! :)

this pack has a few highlights, but definitely not enough to justify the immense size

as long as we're bitching about size here..

61mb for a 16-second video clip?! wtf.

and i don't think we needed 350mb of mp3s from an art group either, but that's just my opinion.

You could at least have made the individiual sections available for separate downloads or even browsable online, think of the modem users. There are some nice stuff in this pack but it doesn't qualify for a rulez.

Phoenix: I don't see any 16 second 61mb clips in that pack, but there is a 67mb tune that is close to 40 minutes.

If you don't wan't to download all 450 megs, i recommend the version including only lowrez art...some peices look really good, but some doesn't...anyway i think we should try to keep the artpacks at thuglife or acheron.

here's the 2mb version: www.thuglife.org/acid100/

there is some good looking peices of art in here, but it is by no way worth the wait of the download.

unless your ansi or acid crazy..

could have had more gfx and less mp3s to balance things abit more but it still owns completly. has some serious enormous quantities of scene feeling in my eyes.
huge respect!

just watched the lo-rez version, and it is SO FUCKING GREAT... for a long long time i haven't seen such a huge amount of quality textmode art in one pack. brings back the feeling of long-gone times!

quality over quantity

Eh, I did my fair share of bitching behind the scenes. Won't see any scene related mp3's from me anytime soon. Pfft.
added on the 2004-01-08 08:35:52 by troll troll
thumb for the online version, not got space for 100s more mp3s, and anyway, i'd like some chiptunes or a sid or 2 with such artpacks...

As to the art, theres some really nice asciis and ansis in there :)

i'm ok with the monstrous size... only i was in hope it was because of a huge highrez section instead of toonz of not-so-good music (with some exceptions). anyway I have lot's of friends and pals contributing to the textmode section and that one particulary rulez!
rulez added on the 2004-01-08 16:35:20 by panoramix panoramix
A real waste of potential!

I don't know much about textmode art, but a few of the graphics in the hires section are superb. Some of these could have been used in a slideshow, or a series of slideshows, instead of being thrown into a huge junk pile where they'll probably go unnoticed by most people. And the same applies to the mp3s which could have been used in a line of music demos.

This to me is not a good way of releasing sceners' hard work, so despite some of the great work here, it gets a thumb down from me.

the visual art was good, the music was mostly quite shitty.

Actually, this artpack should work just fine on any computer or operating system which has software capable of playing MP3s and viewing standard HTML 4.01 transitional code.
