sorry but this false nostalgia really was a letdown. it IS creative to include a songwriting-style part in a demo, it IS creative to combine it with a scroller part. but seriously, those rants about the good old times are just ridiculous. go and talk with some REAL oldschoolers about the "good old times" and find out what you are actually idolizing. sometimes nostalgia is nothing else than a pitiful escape from reality.

definetely too nice all in all to thumb it down, but getting to the ranting was like biting on a small stone while eating a nice cup of porridge.

please, i'm really sick of stupid personal flamewars aimed at me just because i utter my opinion over some aesthetics from time to time. i have just commented (in a quite objective manner) a demo and you come up with stupid threats? this is pretty much dejavu, and from older examples i only can say that you're not really making friends with such behaviour, not even amongst the creators of this demo, i suppose.

to the makers of this demo: please don't be bewildered by this ranting, i liked the demo quite much besides the aspect which i pointed out in detail a few posts above.

btw could anybody check the osx x86 rls....i have only vmware osx (native osx on i915 should be enough). there is no sounddriver...demo won't start :/ (check the nfo file)

@ dipswitch: why do you say 'false nostalgia'?! i think someone who writes and performs such a song must have true nostalgia in his heart!
i'm also into computers and demos since about 1989 or so and i do feel some true nostalgia when i see a starfield and some copperbars, i can't influence it.
if something is nostalgic to me then it remembers me of MY good old times and of what they mean to ME as a scener !
so why should i go and ask a 'real oldskooler' or anybody else about what the 'good old times' are?!
btw i don't think at all that it's escape from reality when 1 of 100 demos DARE to contain some 'oldskool' elements and some older sceners are just happy about it^^!

took me a while to figure out the secret "install_name_tool -change /usr/local/lib/libfmodex.dylib fmod_darwin_i386/libfmodex.dylib" handshake though, damn new macs -_-
not worth a thumb though.
