Ahhh, you sit and watch this for hours! It's actually been so many years since I last saw it ! You are on the bottom of the water with bubbles and little thingies (fish, even lemmings) swimming around... colors cycle endlessly and scrollers run before you until your eyes pop out. Come to think of it, this would make a killer screen saver! :-) No, it's just the Assembly '92 invitation by legendary Future Crew. Good ol' stuff! :-)

Hey,. Fishtro! This was an Invitation for Assembly 1992??? I don't remember, but it was very oldskool and beautifull! I hope that my Pentium can still run that old cute demo..

i admired the effort the future crew guys could develop in doing invitation to the demoparty and then win samethere :o0, i like it, all those details you cannot get for the first time (which is a good reason to let this invitro run more times) etc. etc. etc. ... and .. the music :]

the most cute invitation-thingie around.. =) all those fish swimming around, all the small details.. and the thing that it actually becomes night and day with fades makes you sit there watching it even longer =) and the music.. well.. what can you say? so happy and catchy, it fits the invtro perfectly..

Great music (6ch back before Scream Tracker was public!)

Great detail in the swimming fish / sub / lemming :)

The day to night changeover was very cool, and nice particle text.

Pretty sweet for '92, and still cool today.

I was lucky enough to run it recently, on a Pentium 200 with a soundblaster. cool stuff! :-)

The experience of watching this is a lot different than typical demos/intros.. just totally relax and read the scrollies :) I remember being disappointed that there weren't any killer effects.. but by now it's pretty clear that this thing's standing alone.

Help! I remember this from ages ago. Tonight I thought Fishtro, no idea why or how I remember it but I did and found it and downloaded it. I wanted to play it and see it again but it won't play on Windows XP. Is there anyway it can be? I don't have my 286 or 386 anymore and have been unable to get it to work :)

I saw this demo when it was first released in 91 or 92. At the time was running a 386 DX33 with I think 4 megs of RAM and running DOS 5.0 (a pretty sweet system at the time). Ahh the good 'ol days... This demo (or invitation as it were) rocked. Used to chill and watch it run for hours... Something made me think of it recently and I couldn't believe I was able to find it so many years later. Hopefully it will run in a DOS shell under XP.
Well it played (though somewhat sluggishly) under XP for me (saw someone else say they couldn't run it under XP), but of course I got no sound as I'm using the onboard sound. If anyone knows a way to get the audio working please post, the audio was awesome and really made the demo. I don't know if it would even work with a modern day Sound Blaster card.

Very nice 'fishtro'. I love the music especially.
The music sounds like the intro theme to the TV series "My So-Called Life". I enjoyed the fish parts though.
Fishtro was GREAT!!! Used to run this for hours and hours on end, basically as a screensaver on my 386 DX33 back in 92' and 93'. The music was awesome, very crisp, and really soothing. Loved the little touches like the swimming Lemming :). There was another great demo out at the same time by another group that I used to watch a lot too, but I can't remember who/what it was :-/.

Really wish there was a version of this that would run on a modern system and modern sound card/chip. Saw a version on Youtube, which definitely brought back memories, but the audio and video were both Youtube quality of course, and DEFINITELY didin't do it justice.
