don't blame us and be OldSkoOl !

a real oldschool touch that puts to shame all the previous tries. effects are displayed just a bit long, and i don't know if having the workbench screen all demo long was a good idea.

I got a guru meditation, please release a bugfix! :)))

Great work, it seems like it is running on an amiga500 :)

Oh what a feeling.

I was expecting a Guru Meditation at the end, and I wasn't disappointed. Thumbs up for the nostalgia, including the disk loading and workbench screen. Although I must admit, I prefer 'oldskool' style demos that use some new school technologies/methods/etc..

don't like old amiga demos on windows, Please , be creative, not redone old effects!
Recent effects would have been appreciated in this ugly workbench 1.3! sorry

Can´t get it. Recoding old effects on todays hardware is neither interesting nor creative, just boring. If I want to watch oldschool stuff, I do it with real old demos instead.

nostalgia! .. cute prod

Don't really like things like that. Oldschool on a oldchool machine ok. On a machine like that with no design and a ripped music is quite, mh, not interresting.

good oldschool fx !!!
Oldschool and amiga rullleeezzzz

alambik is really a great tool, and this prod proves you can make cool effects only with some simple commands.
anyway, i don't really had fun watching this demo : maybe too classic except for the nice logo and the "disk boot" sound :)

Hey, i still can remember when i saw that "texture cube" for the very first time, it was in a demo from "Sanity". Yeah, the old times, with great names like Fairlight, Kefrens, Crusaders (never will forget when my diskmag was for the very first time in the eurocharts), Razor 1911 and all others, too many names to mention. I'm off scene since about 10 years, but i still like what you're doing. Great stuff.
rulez added on the 2002-04-05 16:17:46 by wildrage wildrage
the music was used with autorization of AXEL himself, the design is here, only amiga pictures with true size not a simple 512*384 resizing. Audio sounds of track loading are originals from Sanity / Jesterday musikdisk. This production was just a small 'hello' to all my old friends from Amiga, i didn't want to compet against new coding as i don't know how to code new effects ;)

Great nostalgia production! Very refreshing after tons of lame 3d players.

Alambik is just a lame script demomaker tool.

i said "nice demo" so you can be happy :)
Yes i like this demo, i like oldschool remix style, but for me, making demo with alambik is just like making demo with a demomaker tool.

This is one of on the few MS2002 demos I enjoyed watching here at home, since I don't have any 3d accelerated card yet ;)

Another "grab some old trendy Amiga screen, amiga effects, put them together in a workbench window and stuff,. to seem cool or something or oldsskol" demo but I always love to watch these, and they usually are the few I can watch in software, since I on't have a 3d card yet,. ok :)

But I enjoyed it most than everything in the current conditions of my PC...
So I thumb up!

A500 is better, 3Mo for a 880ko amiga D7

and i was only able to watch it on my Duron800, the decruncher scene was too slow on my Celeron450...
added on the 2002-04-10 00:47:23 by Tex Tex
1 - The 3 mo rar file contains the demo + the file (.tvd) + the Alambik viewer for the web, check only the exe file ;)
2 - Of course A500 does it better , it's just a memory production, no fight :)

well :)

so i have just to tell that some of the guys greeted at the end are the same that the ones you talkin' to at the begining in the 'young sceners advisory' text ;)
added on the 2002-04-10 15:32:58 by Tex Tex
btw you have to remember that the amiga500 scene was loving to send some 'myprod is better than yours' messages, so don't consider my precedents thread as agressive but as some homage ;)

A really nice prod!
Very nice oldschool style and the track-loading in the beginning simply KICKS ASS!! ;-D
I laughed my ass off when I saw it at MS in the compo!! Great style...

And here you can see that the 2nd half of the MS demo compo wasn't seen by too many people anymore as they thought there is only the bad entries shown...

THIS demo here was ranked FAR too low in the charts compared to other (higher) ranks though! :-(

My opinion of course!

Alambik viewer 2.0:

Windows 7: Demo can't start, unless Alambik is manually started first. Small black screen, sound only. XP compatibility mode doesn't help on both fruit.exe and alambik.exe.

VMWare/Windows XP: Works 100% OK full screen with image and sound.
Virtualboix/Windows XP: small screen, but with image and sound.

Real nice old school demo on a very obscure platform! Just make sure you are viewing it on a VMWare or real Windows XP machine and use the latest Alambik viewer version 2.0.
