here is the second version of my chiptune.com jukebox !
due to lots of complain about the previous version, i remove some useless effects, i also add a nice hand-drawed logo by Mr Splif/Aegis, some credits and a chiptune loader (press "load" button) who download chiptunes directly from chiptune.com database !

i hope you will like that little chiptune player ^_^

the interface is a little stupid ("load", "random", "download"? where is the tracklist?) but good tunes and good looking oldskool action going on. :)
rulez added on the 2005-01-10 09:53:56 by gloom gloom
just to clarify - i know the tracklist is under the "load"-button, but it's just not very intuitive :)
added on the 2005-01-10 09:54:56 by gloom gloom
well, to clarify, the tracklist is ENORMOUS and evolving, because it's the chiptune.com database who is loaded at loading...
also, i don't know where i can display that on the screen :)))

with the "download" button you can download the song currently playing, but it's not working (just loading chiptune.com main page) i don't know why :'(

i will fix it later !

Excellent & refreshing oldskool stuff.

Two requests though:

1. It would be cool to have some kind of random stream option so that we don't have to click 'random' every 3 minutes to have a new track.

2. the 'download' option is not that useful since it only points to www.chiptune.com
What about a real download link or at least a link to http://www.chiptune.com/chiptune.php?menu=search&choice=title&search=blablabla so we don't have to type the title of the tune.

i miss a .exe, .tvd is no common standard.
RA5MUS: platform field reads ALAMBIK. Why should there be a .exe?
Pouet is not only about win32 exe files...

keops: sorry for the useless "download" button, it's buggy for the moment, that button must download the currently playing son...

rasmus: it's possible, but the goal of doing a .tvd is to obligate people to install the alambik viewer :)

also i can say Alambik doesn't put any hidden files or dll in your systems and it's just 1,4 meg to download so everybody can install it without fear :)

good tunes as usual, and nice to see something done in alambik again :)
rulez added on the 2005-01-10 13:27:43 by NuKem NuKem
rez: could you modify [random] so that it doesn't cut the sound stream until it gets the whole new tune ? i know tune sizes are nothing for nowadays net connections but it's for the principle of the thing ;)

and keops's idea about a non-stop random stream would be really great, it would make a nice nectarine alternative for low-bandwidth users :)

bug fixed on the "download" button, now you can download the zipped file directly from chiptune.com :)

I installed alambik when it was first released, but there were hardly any demos worth mentioning back then, and I haven't seen any reason to install it again. I won't install alambik just to try one production.

If you can make an .exe, then why not? You could distribute it as a separate version or something..

fox: this jukebox alone makes Alambik worth downloading imo ;)

lol fox installing alambik isn't that evil :D i'm not an alambik zealot (in fact i know nuts about it) but its viewer install is light and clean. That's not to be compared to the bunch of programs that regularly fuck your system (even a game like HL2 is pretty irritating with imposing Valve worm Steam...)

BB Image rez: here's another bug :P
i didn't have admin-rights on that pc i was sitting at the other day. still alambik platform is just like flash (read: another more or less useless meta-platform).
sucks for the platform, but who cares?
