one of my favorite breakpoint releases this year. everything fits together nicely, and in cooperation with the lyrics, everything creates a very special athmosphere. highly underrated, this one!

holy dog toffee, this is what demos are all about : code, style, confusion and great music ...

bauknecht wunscht was frauen wissen.

looked typical at first but the feeling really grew. The 3D symmetry effect was cool. Nice music too.

A lot of nice details in here....

Actually not bad. With some more work and better music it could've been great. Extra points for having the scenepoetry in a language I can't understand. =)

nice demo, great feeling :)

Already liked the first bauknecht demo from ms2002. Cut the joke text screens and use a better readable font for the lyrics next time. :)

Tomaes: what you call joke textscreens are not so funny messages about an antidote called zyprexa. which I must eat every day to stay clean of opticness.. You now all began with some soft drugs and turned into an fukking disease i can't really handle.. And if you lough about the code try to write this with a high maximum of this medical stuff into.. I like this demo because ive written it.. And if you understand the textlines they fit very well to the parts. So kids stay away from drugs (if you can)..
rulez added on the 2004-04-18 12:09:22 by mad mad
Anyways drugs are cool to demos.. But not everyone should try it.. It can make you iller than the teletubbys.

oh and the music is great!... finally a demo again with non-techstep drum'n'bass music.

btw, there is an english translation of the lyrics in the nfofile.

This prod contains a great deal of well coded and original effects. The reason it doesnt work is because it completely lacks an overall design and is quite ugly in some parts. The lyrics was unreadable because of the ugly font, and some parts had "coder colors". ugh. But a nice prod, thanks to the coder

I liked this, a good effectsdemo always makes you happy. But what I can't understand is, how is the thing so slow? Granted, I only have a Geforce 2 MX and a 1,1GHz Athlon, but i didn't see anything that would've warranted for it to go 1 SPF (seconds per frame) at places. Therefore, no thumbs up.
added on the 2004-04-18 15:16:36 by Preacher Preacher
the pink 3d-caleidoscope-like stuff rules bigtime!
but i don't like the rest. also was very slow...

sorry for the lack of design.. I had an designer but he wanted to do the demo a little weird with mushroom colors.. And I didn't.. So sorry for the "coder" colors i simply didn't want to exchange them with overkilling colors.. Next demo will be surely an overall design and better colors..

one of my favorte ms2004 demos. and one of the few that is still great when watched at home.

and thanks to the unreadable font i don't have to care about the lyrics. (i hate scene-poetry).

not looking good and very buggy... (lot of warning message box)... and 256MB of memory... too lame
sucks added on the 2004-04-19 01:43:43 by spengler spengler
The message box in front of the demo should be a joke and no bug.. Anf if you have other message boxes.. I don't know which hardware you drive it on.. On Ati and from gF2 and above Ive tested it.. And the 256MB of memory.. Can't verify but some intros take 4GB of memory (are they also lame?)..
added on the 2004-04-19 12:07:53 by mad mad
This one rules. Good work!

And don't care for Spengler and what he says. I saw his latest votes. He's just a negative kiddie voting everything down. I wonder if he ever really "worked" for the scene.

i was convinced this will be another kitchy demo with ugly colors, but in the end i was very surprised. it is not that i would like the entirety of it (some effects are not so good, and i found the text layers disharmonizing). on the other hand, some parts are so great and innovative that i could not believe my eyes, which might be very subjective, but i'm watching the scene for maybe a decade now, and found this very refreshing.
rulez added on the 2004-04-20 12:29:50 by flash^peon flash^peon
and yes, the music was splendid at times.
Not bad. Some parts are really good looking but it still lacks the final kick for a thumb.

some great effects in here - some fast, some slow. synch is good although some parts last a little too long. the german nonsense text adds to the design, if anything.

psycho!!!

(7th place only for this?)
rulez added on the 2004-06-01 21:49:05 by nula nula
I think 7th place is just the right place, considering that there were so many really good demos at Breakpoint.
The abstract shapes look very good, but are also very slow sometimes. The music fits into the general mood. But please choose a different font next time, as I would like to read the lyrics while watching the demo and not afterwards, which somewhat kills the atmosphere. Without the lyrics this is not much more than an abstract effect slide show, but since I at least know what they are about, I can say that this is a well-designed production with an unusual, rather well carried out concept.
rulez added on the 2004-06-02 01:56:06 by mjz mjz
Sorry that I'm from the oldschool Scene. I think Demos are "Effect Slideshows" which carry a theme through the play time.. And if you consider that this production was entirely made in 3 Weeks (for the Engine)and 1 Day (for the grafix and music) I think you shouldn't judge it to hard.. Im able to do better but I can't work without an grafician.. It's fucking wired that i code since eternities whithout an cool grafician or designer.
And ofcourse i think 7th place is at least right for this, for my sake chaos of farbrausch voted it to the two best demos and that is all I want.. Some people who understand freaking Ideas..
PS: some visions for this demo I have taken directly from the mental hospital.. And the text fits very well to them..
added on the 2004-06-02 12:14:06 by mad mad
And mjz: "there were so many really good demos at breakpoint".. Perhaps at the last event or in the Amiga compo.. Don't judge by numbers..

This is a really good demo! A lot of nice scenes and great music! Some of the 3d was really nice but if Bauknecht would get a really good graphican then they would make some really awsome demos!

If you watch this please disable the glow.. It costs performance and it even doesen't look better.. I know spengler (only him?)would say: it sucks even without glow.. Anyways cool prod thumbs up for me.
added on the 2004-07-29 19:37:48 by mad mad
shit, i missed this after bp. It rules for sure... this would be in the top 3 with ease for me. Only criticism is perhaps some of the scenes stay on the screen for too short a time... you just get time to think 'that looks good, let me see more' and its gone. Maybe a longer remix would be nice :D

Some awesome objects in this demo. Although it's really lacks direction. The growing/shrinking/mirrored objects made out of rectangular prisms was the most interesting. Music blew goats.

I liked this prod very much: fast paced and with many original effects! I think the demo even shows how this drug (Zyprexa or Olanzapine, that is) "travels" through the patients body and then takes effect.
rulez added on the 2004-09-14 11:16:49 by EarlGrey EarlGrey
This production is definetly a huge step forward for Bauknecht. There are so many effects in here, that some others would have made several demos out of it. Maybe this would have not been the worst idea: Sometimes you get the impression, that zyprexa is "effects hastetly pasted together"; with a partly inconsistent result. If you look at the readme-file it is obvious that the lyrics are not just the common "demo-stuff". Sad that the font makes them just incredible hard to read.
I like it ;-)

Very well done. Heard about it from the Pixtur site. Don't know if I understand how it is similar to how Zyprexa works in the body. If it is I would like to know.

What pixtur said about the font is quite true, it's really a pity that it's so hard to decipher. I can't pinpoint why, but the poem itself is just damn good - it might be the words, that are a bit off the day to day usage or the tone.
The demo itself is good, and I like how some parts are clearly close to the lyrics - the Zerrbildspiegellabyrinth and aufgewühlte See scenes are my faviourites there, and I think the tunnel even vaguely looks like a Blütenmeer, or at least one Blüte.

All in all it's not hitting me as hard as Trocken, but it's nice to see where that came from.
