AFAIK this is the first Zodiac production:

BB Image

That's actually a real demo, not just a videoclip. :-)

does this specifically need the zodiac hardware? or would it run on my general use palm?

I think this wild production will probably be viewable on anything which has Kinoma video player, which is not just a Zodiac specific product but available on other PalmOS devices as well. Can't verify this myself though since I don't have other PalmOS devices than Zodiac.
So the pouet classification above of platform PalmOS and wild production is probably pretty accurate!

It's really just a black and white video that plays in kinoma player... it really makes me wonder, why release it for palm if it's just a video? And why not use xvid or something instead of kinoma, so it can be played on other devices?

Definately a thumb down, although the chip tune was alright.

Doh, ZG prevented direct linking to images (referring to the blank image with text above). Just click on the blank image or follow this link to see the full res image of the demo I talked about.

tonic: is that a demo-demo, or more of a tech demo or game demo? And where is it / who is it by?
added on the 2004-09-03 15:33:18 by psonice psonice
It's called Resistance and made by Vasara Games/Fathammer, subcontracted by Tapwave to do it. So it's a tech demo showcasing the Zodiac hardware. I don't know if it is available anywhere.
added on the 2004-09-03 19:44:46 by tonic tonic
So it isn't counted anyway...
added on the 2004-09-03 19:48:25 by dairos dairos
I don't see why this should be counted as the "first zodia demo" either... there are loads of videos that will play in a media player on the zodiac already. And there are loads of actual demos that will run on it too, if you use an emulator. Possibly some of the palm demos will run on it too.

Dairy, as the Resistance is still made by demosceners, it counts as much as
- Triton's GUS advertisement
- Magic view advertisement by Dubius
- Farbrausch's Afri Cola demo
- Future Crew's demos for SSI, Waite Group Press and Creative Labs
- whole bunch of commercial demos by Ultraforce
etc..
Even if it's not very common for sceners to make commercial demos, they are still counted as demos. :)
added on the 2004-09-04 01:02:40 by tonic tonic
but they were released, weren't they?
The list above is surely not exhaustive. While most of the commercial demos by sceners are available to the public, not all of them are, unfortunately.. :(
