I don't like the idea of levels. I just want nonsensical mayhem.

TaaT seal of quality
RUULEZ!! The ultimate dismount challenge plus editor!! thanks taat, now i have sth to do at work ;D
no no no. no more dismount. yeah, this time it's not about the damage, but it's still quite a lot of recycle
"same procedure as last year, miss sofie?"
- "same procedure as every year, james!"
- "same procedure as every year, james!"
now this is weak.
Okay, the first one in the series was good.
Then the second one came along. A little stale, but still decent.
Now this ;)

i like the idea of the levels, and the level editor, but throwing the bloke around to collect yellow boxes and press switches is just boring.
I'll wait to see if the damage mode makes it back for the final before voting, but for now the thumb is aimed at the floor.

Yet another dismount game. And this time even a boring one. Move along guys, nothing to see here...
Some suggestions:
1. It's time to add some (editable) skins and blood to the game!
2. It needs some interesting sound effects. I want to feel like I'm punishing a real person!
3. Falling from a great height would be cool. It could show a birdseye view of him falling and there could be lots of obstacles for him to hit on his way down.
4. A bike dismount would be cool.
5. More interaction with objects. Like moveable boxes, trashcans, shattering glass etc.
6. Opponents. Give us two players on screen and let them hurt each other in various ways.
Well there;s 1000s of ways you can take this game just using the ragdoll. But pushing him through a level is tedious and undermines the point of the game!!
Please hear my prayer.
Amen.

how about the guy starts off in a cannon, and we get to design the landing area?
shadez, FYI, only thing recycled is the ragdoll model and the code loading it - and of course the concept itself, although not even that really.
Everything else is rewritten...

And BTW, thanks for any feedback - as it is labeled, this is only a preview. The editor & scripting API makes it possible even with the preview build to create different games, and with a bit more stuff to the currently exposed features will make it even more dynamic.
tarzan, why do you think any of the audience cares if you rewrote the thing from scratch or not? it's the same game allright.
The main audience here is the Dismount games fans, whose amount probably outnumber demoscene. :) There has been tons of requests for different kinds of sequels as well as for possibility to modify the game different ways, which is exactly what I'm now making possible.
For some reason Assembly (or demo parties generally) just seems to spur interest and inspiration to get something done and packaged up, which is the reason why the limited preview version was put up now. Even knowing the fact that the feedback from scene is usually mostly negative anyway.

sorry jethro i know you have spent time
with this game but i dont like this :(

tarzan: yes, it's concept is quite a recycle; just giving forces to different parts of body and having the collision detections. sure i like the physics and it's a good attemp to try making something "new" from "same" concept, but imo it doesn't work (for me atleast) anyway. maybe some of the thousands of requests were better? :)
it's purely awesome, incredibly amazing

tarzan, i'm not saying you shouldn't make sequels like this, i'd probably have done the very same in your position :)
i'm just saying that you shouldn't say it's not recycled when it is :)
nothing wrong with recycling though :)

Hmm. This one not so good. I dont like the way the guy collapses straight away. Would be nice if there was some stiffness/springyness to the joints so that he could stand up. Maybe you could push him down and make him jump forward etc. Perhaps he would still fall over when he lands, but should be able to pull his head up to stand him up again.
The fact that he collapses straight away spoils the concept for me. It may as well be a string of sausages instead of a human shape.
Piggy for now. 6/10. Must try harder :)

i still think, even if it's almost the same game than before, that exploding a human body like that is funny ;)
i like eating yellow cuves with my foot.
shadez, I guess it isn't clear enough that this is a preview of a framework for different kinds of minigames in a way - i.e. the current level is just a test level which was built in a few hours night before the deadline. It'll be perfectly possible to make some of the asked things with the editor + scripting API. :)
kbab, ah well, when thought about the concept, of course it's recycling. it helps the environment, you know... :)
Mtl, yes, I agree that the controls stuff is something which needs to be touched as one of the very next things.. for now, it's only the first (test) attempt.
As it says in the readme, this release is mainly for getting feedback, so thanks to everybody. :) Critique is welcome, but only thing I hope to get from negative reactions is some insight in what exactly is wrong (unless you're just convinced that this game just isn't for you personally).

Nothing is wrong with the game, but it's just not as fun to play as the others in my opinion. I think it would be more fun to expand on the original idea some more.
The fun wasn't so much in the game play, but more in the crazy accidents and inflicting suffering...and being rewarded for it!!
Suffering is the key to success!!!
All we need is more variations on the suffering we can inflict and improvements can come in the form of realism.
I really want to see him lying in a pool of his own blood when I'm done with him! That would make me very happy!!!

I also love to see things break and shatter! I would love to ram the bastard's head through a window and watch the glass fly everywhere. oh baby!!!!
OMG!
As a game it isn't an entertainment, and it comes out threeth times... :( First two are really rocks but now turn into boring...
I wanted some more levels. Editor is not very handy to design my own easilly..
we need tAAt dismount already.
We've seen it already... And that's why I give it thumbdown :/
As some might have noticed, it's a scriptable dismount game. Now you can make your own bike/porridge/nykänen dismount game. (the latter has already been submitted by someone).
Nooo, no more this next year please! I've thumbed these up enough
haha, the editor + script thingy owns :)
r0xx0rz!
please release a final version with at least 20 levels
