This one uses the blitter hardware to construct the sponge recursively. It could probably be rendered in pure software on the Z80, but this approach is way faster.

Hey Fell, I'm glad you're liking them. It's kind of addictive, the same kind of fun that I got from Shadertoy when I was still active on there. I happened to do the exact same as you, but I ended up keeping it and eventually I dug it out again a couple of years ago and decided to learn everything about it. Unfortunately they go for about 10x the price now..
