I already need to thumb this up as Vision Factory were the heroes of my youth. Glad to see a fresh production coming in 2025!

I captured it from original Amiga.
But the first effect doesn't stretch as it should.
DVD recorder doesn't support native NTSC and similar tricks.
But if you want, I can share it on YT.

Nice comeback after 33 years. That's gotta be some kind of record.

Naughty, naughty beamhack. It's a little, reluctant troublemaker.

Here you go.
The skull intro sequence does weird things on my CRT, as if the display isn't stable. Not looking bad, no idea if that's intended. Awesome main part - solidly anchored in the 1980s, and beams you right into the present. Or the other way round. Delightful!

Great that VF is back! Lovely!

I have also made a capture of this production in Winuae upscaled to 4K,
But if you rather want a capture made with Real HW feel free to change my capture of the production to the HW capture made by Jimi above.

The link will be shown in the production once a glöpoperator have approved it.

@bifat
Sachy was so kind and ran a dozen of test versions on real hardware (A500 and A500+ with CRT) before the final release and it looked even more stable than in the emulator. Do you mean the (slight) flickering and tendancy of the image to "disintegrate" into single texels which is in particular observable during the rotation? This is due to the interlacing. The skull is composed of two interleaving sub-images (checkerboard pattern) that are then displayed in consecutive frames. This allows me to work with 60 independantly colored texels per scan line. And to reduce the flickering the beam is being manipulated resulting in an increase of frequency from 50Hz to 64Hz. I could have gone as high as 72Hz or so but was afraid of overtasking and maybe even damaging(?) old CRTs.

@tjahzi
That's an interesting vertical line at the right and "Crying At The Discoteque"-flashing at the bottom :-) Is that caused by the video capture?

@Smaugur
Thank you for the video.

By the way, if you run it in winUAE make sure to use one of the latest versions and to choose Full-window and Standard VSync in the display settings.

This is how it looks on my 1084s: BB Image
Pouet may not seem to support images via http anymore, so I switched to https, but no idea if it's shown inline.

Yes. Typical symptoms in modes other than PAL :(.

Awesome comeback by Vision Factory! Very well packed stuff in just 40k! The first effect (BeamHack) is a real (double) trouble maker - the projector failed to display it at the party, even when we tried it through 2 different video paths... When I was testing it on 2 compo machines (the primary one and the backup) it all worked on my displays (2x 90's CRTs: MircoVitec & Amiga M1438S as well on few LCDs). It looked much better than in WinUAE. But it seems to be a little nasty thing to some others... Great prod anyway! \o/
