this one is pretty original.. the graphics are mostly photos, but they are wisely layered one over another in a some sort of a parallax effect, which gives it a nifty static 3d-ish look (a-la modern videos.. nice ideas around, don't believe that screenshot 8)
The screenshot is taken from the very beggining, just before the logo :)
Just don't miss the best scene in the whole demo: the train station one. See how to perform a cinematographic travelling camera effect with a 2d image !!

Nice demo featuring some curious cool effects. Try it and don't be cheated by the screenshot! ;)
it's crash at the start :(
perhaps because my ati+3dfx system ....

very cool music and idea. 2d photo layers arranged to static animation, i like it. the only problems are that it loads way too long and it likes to crash a lot.
one of my favourite demos :-)
I'm still waiting for the bugfix for this beauty. :)
What's with that stupid screenshot?!?
Anyways...
This is a very different demo with some original ideas/effects. It's not 'action-packed' or anything, but still manages to remain interesting.

I agree with previous comments. The image layering idea is good and it works. The only problem with the images was that some were much better quality than the others (some had much jpeg or other artifacts, some didn't). But it was just a minor glitch in this great demo.
I wish the text/message could keep up with the subtile/original visuals.
One of my favourite demos ever, original and stylish.
yeah, a vote.
If this demo had been polished a bit more it would have been a huge classic. It's ok in its actual state. Reboot is missing!
nice design
Very stylish design. One of my favourites also.
rulez
Very interesting and different demo. One time it stopped in the middle of the demo (but sound was still playing), but it worked ok after starting it a second time.
We want incognita back!
yeah, i agree with Ithaqua, I want Incognita bACK
broken link ;(
working link: ftp://ftp.scene.org/pub/parties/2000/bcnparty00/demo/2ndfloor_0.75-incognita.zip

'cos deserve it ...
Very interesting alternative demo.
I agree with Ithaqua too... back, back! :)
Froze halfway through, but what I saw before that was really cool.
great use of 2d, and who needs a happy endink anyway?
Impressive. One of the reasons I attended bcnparty as my first party :)
i get insane white flickering, no sound? r9200se XPSP2, Dx9c
Not voted for this??
moans that it cant load frase18.tga and dies. Anyone know of a solution?
can't run on modern systems - the mipmaps aren't power-of-2 dimensions so they can't load. plus the heap corruption while loading mesh effects, all points to a really buggy release.

indeed...
Work great on my Win7 64 bit system with a GTX 660 after putting dgVoodoo v2.53 DDraw.dll and D3DImm.dll in demo folder.
Those who expect demos coded a decade and a half ago under Windows 98 and Direcxt X 5, 6 or 7 to work flawlessly out of the box on Windows 7, 8 or 10 are delusional... Old OpenGL demos compatibility with modern system is fairly good, not so much for Direcxt X prior to version 8. Most DX demos of that era in fact requires a wrapper and by far the best Direct X wrapper is dgVoodoo.
Now that this out the way, this is a great demo! The sound track is very appropriate for the visual!

Tried it with DGVoodoo as Ramon suggested, but it only gets as far as the "you won't get out alive" screen before it hangs. Win10 here.
yeah runs fine with dgvoodoo... been a while since i saw this one, it's actually not as epic as i remembered it, but it's a nice experimental matte art style for its time nonetheless, executed much more polished later by e.g. moppi or cncd.
