Very consistent design, smooth as silk and very watchable. I liked this one very much as opposed to Spengler's redundant comments.

good works jar.
good design.
good music.
However, Originality is not in a code.
However, I liked design.

enjoyable demo. Im wondering what NDF shading is though . Id say this is rather good looking stuff.

it's all around effects : well coded and nice, but the overall impression is that it's a shallow demo at the end.

Probably the only demo with typical demo effects and design at Evoke (besides the console demo 'Green Cheese'). Very good work.

this could have been nice.
especially the music works really fine, but unfortunately too much effects are simply copied from other demos - and they are copied badly.
here the ndf shading doesn't produce results that look any better than a usual envmap.
and ndf is nothing more than fetching shading values from a texture which actually is a simple environment mapping with different per-vertex setup.

Nice work from science here...
I liked that at the big screen and also after the party.
Technically it could have been improved a bit better.
But generally it's a solid demo-work which should have been ranked a bit higher in my opinion...

Was quite nice demo overall. I liked the tune. Looks like the engine needs a little more work though - the env mapping at the start was quite bad. The NDF effect looked like it had some possibilities, but suffered the same problems as the env map (in 3d apps this is usually cause the edge angle value is set too low, so all edges become sharp instead of smooth, maybe it's similar in d3d?)

Also, there were too many layers in some parts, so it's hard to notice some parts are there at all.

Deformations were really nice though! Keep going

I guess it looked a bit like it was trying to be a Haujobb demo in places, which isn't a bad thing, but gives the "seen before" impression.

The demo was excellent though, with some very nice textures (I really loved that pinkish gold env map texture!), gret music and design.

Although the effects were well done, I agree with Helli in that they look like they've been lifted from other demos.

But a very demo as a whole.

thanks for the helpful comments. the problem is that most of the time I nearly have to do everything myself: code, 3d, gfx, design. It is very hard to do some quality productions this way: It takes way too long and this leads to lack of motivation. Any 2d/3d graphicians out there?

And yes i like the visualize/haujobb/madwizards-style ;)

hellfire is right about the NDF shading. It's calculating UV mapping values from tangent space (SXT) vectors with respect to the light vector. You store the specular highlight shape in this envmap.
Didn't have anything original to offer. Effects are good but I have seen them before. I think. And they weren't that fast in my configuration anyways..

hm...
nothing new that we haven't seen 100 times before...
it gets a piggy because of the consistent design and "demo feeling"
thank you jar, for keeping up the activity of our group in the last few months (or is it even a year or more?) - and my compliments and thanks to you for this solid demo release.
i think i should put on my hazard suit and join you in our labs again.

Typical effects slideshow with typical visuals. None of this is presented in any original manner.
even if you saw lots of the effect in other demos (e.g. haujobb) they are still very nice and put together in the way i like most. especially the gfx are very krewl... the scientists are back ;-)=

medium music, a finished prod
but nothing novative, it's a demo like some others
i like it very much by watching it for the 2nd time :)

maybe because i'm missing Haujobb at the very moment ;)

unfortunately, this demo could have existed in 1996 or 97 too (in 320x200, ofcourse; but softrender at least :)
the "metaballs" (and some other parts too)are awfully lowpoly...

Oh shit! The "elastic" transparent object in the scene with elastic logo looks still amazing. Very nice package overall.
