Not too bad. I wonder who Psyched Eric is.

hitchhikr: That is probably a typo. Japanese people use the same characters for syllables with "r" and "l". So it should actually be "psychedelic".

Yes, that's where the term 'Engrish' is coming from.

the first virus ball already slaps me and then the spikeball destroyed the entire venue. really really solid 64kb with oldschool vibes.

A nice prod from the japànese demoscene godfather. Using own engine and not unity.

In any case, this is a very nice intro with good, pleasant colors.

That's exactly what I was thinking, how this feels like early-hardware-accelerated 64k stuff. Admittedly it's mostly the nostalgia factor that kept me entertained, but it's still a proper 64k (a rarity nowadays) and I really can't knock the OG still being in the game after 20+ years.

yes, very nice! it's like a We Smoke version of early Kewlers aesthetics in e.g. We Cell :D

great stuff!
has that kewlers (or actually mewlers?) vibe indeed, which is great!
But in a modern form. And it's only 38k. Awesome!

Thank you for your comment.
This was a fitting final piece in the series.

@hitchhikr, @Adok
Ah, That is a correct point.lol
But isn't it common for entertainment works to have coined titles where one character is replaced with another? lol
I hope you'll think of it that way.lol

@nytrik
Your past Cocoon works are still great even today. (Shad series, Nazca, etc.)
I am honored to receive a comment from someone who has created such a work.
But "Godfather" is a bit of an exaggeration. lol

>Using own engine and not unity.
In 2021, I created a demo called H.A.L.T.III in Unity, which I did as a learning for work.
Unity allows you to create high-quality works by using a large number of external assets, which can be misleading,
But for that work, almost all of the components were created by hand, except for the font and timeline, and it was created making full use of Polygons, Textures,
Compute Shaders, Vertex Shaders, and Pixel Shaders.
As you may know, just because you use a commercial game engine does not mean it is easy to create a good prod.
In the case of Unity, I remember having a lot of trouble because displaying a large number of particles was too slow without making full use of Shaders.

@Gargaj
Hello.
It's been a while.
By the way, I've been wondering for a while, who is OG?

---
It's in Japanese, but the making of this intro is described in X. (An outline is also written in nfo)
https://x.com/gggbaba123
I think a normal way of making things for the people at EuroScene.

This time, I wasn't able to go to the Sessions venue, but compared to the Japanese demoscene I've seen so far, there were a lot of really high-level works, and any one of them could have won.
(The ranking doesn't matter. Even Tya-pa-'s work, which was lowest ranked in this compo, used some pretty interesting techniques.)
The Japanese demoscene was basically nonexistent before 2000, but over the last 10-15 years, there has been more information sharing, and Nowadays, I feel like there are more and more great creators.
It was a really interesting party.

P.S.
As for the video, it will take some time as we need to implement a still to save image sequencing feature in the engine, but I will link it once it's up.:)
