In my opiminion, yes. - Creators usually have insight, but I don't think they have a monopoly on insight. Perhaps on technical matters, but not otherwise.

Demoscene is a bit different, in that the creators are usually assuming some sort of technical or historical knowledge in the viewer to what they've created.
