Why ofstream as binary, << will still write ints as ascii digits instead of binary? I know, these might be very basic C++ stuff, but when I tried to do this instead of how I used with C file function late in 2019, I expected this will be the obvious improvement? -

google, read the docs and stackoverflow and sure ::write. if you want to do proper serialization use a library, e.g. boost -
std::ios::binary obviously doesn't do what you think it does (aka what raer said) - Yep, I realized this. Not sure if I want to add boost, more dependencies.
