Great as alsways, thanks for this year and see you in 2025!
This year was really good in all aspects, if this keeps up im gonna have to have constant room reservated at the hotel for the Gerp weekend. Thx to all the organizers (so friendly, helpful and awesome, as always), this was handled almost perfectly. If i may make a slight suggestion, have 3 compo slots on saturday. I thought the clock was around 01:00 when i laid down in my hotel bed... It was 04:38, and i still would have loved to talk to more people. Boy, im tired right now. :)

That was a great party (even if I attended only remotely) with an high level of the compos!

I liked a lot the Amiga 4 Channel Music and the Amiga 40k Demo compos.

Many cool (with some exceptions) productions.
GERP looks and probably is a new great, party dedicated to Amiga.

New? :)

But indeed it was great this year, thanks to all the awesome people that showed up and made it so, and also to all remote participants.

I should write "which took the lead". Well, in my opinion.

Some feedback for the party would be that I highly recommend that you allow putting points when voting on entries instead of placement. I think this make the voting more fair imo as sometimes you think two entries are just as good and then you put the same number of points on them.

Another thing would be live voting. At least I find it hard to remember what I thought about each song after the compo is done and it's just easier to place it after the track has finished playing.

Thanks for the feedback, appreciated. Somewhat lengthy answers coming up which may or may not be relevant :). Let's address the feedback in order:

For this version of the voting we basically just converted what we had when we had paper and pen voting, it worked out fine when the party was smaller but might be that we have grown out of it and have to reevaluate how to do voting in the future, especially when we have loads of good entries. As it is now, if entries are equally good wouldn't it be expected that multiple ppl vote on them, and some put them in first place, and some in second. However, being played early in the compo may affect how a person is voting etc..

For the second comment, that is a bit harder one. Music compos are hard since it might be hard to remember earlier compo entries when getting to the latter ones, especially for those compose with a log of entries and there are loads of similar type of music (not sure how much a concern this is, just a possibility). Second is that we want to provide the names of the entries when voting and currently we can only do that when the compo is done, no push updates etc. This is something that has been in the pipeline to investigate though and maybe can update entries as they are played. Would require more effort by us as crew, but totally not impossible. We would not want to present a full list of entries at the start of the compo since it kind of spoils the surprise so will have to evaluate how to "fix" this issue :)

Might be that having a point system and pushing out entries as they are played would solve some of the issues above though, this is something I have to try out to see. Back in the days we did show of hands as voting on entries, but I guess that would be a bit inconvenient with bigger parties :D

Will take your critique and look what we can do with it. Maybe others can chip in with their thoughts too :)

Thanks for a lengthy reply :)

Something that may be worth considering is an existing voting system such as http://wuhu.function.hu but I understand if it's out of scope also

i'm sure there are slicker systems, but the gerp homebrew setup was charming as hell.
