Announcing the Media Facade Competition

Revision will again be cooperating with the experimental media lab (xm:lab) within the Academy of Fine Arts Saar (HBKsaar) and calls out to all demosceners to submit their artwork for the media facade, a large backprojection screen, covering the entire glass facade of the academy’s gallery building.

So, groups or single artists - please have a look at this out-of-the-ordinary competition and submit new or converted productions. Remote entries are allowed and welcome!

The winners will be chosen by a jury and presented during a short show during Revision.

The three best submissions will be played regularly on the media facade in Saarbrücken and the best one will receive a nice trophy and and invitation to the academy to hold a workshop, do a talk or something similar.

So - for more information - check out the competition page and create something a little different from the usual Demoscene production.

So, what about vegan options? I wasn't there myself but I've heard good things about Metoikos' vegan meals from last year :)

jobe: pickings are usually superslim for vegans but the supermarket right next to the halls are wellstocked so our vegan crowd usually goes there - or set something up with others :)

IIRC, metoikos and Frau Knopf did the meals in 2013. Last year we had it delivered from a nearby place, afaik (dunno any details, but it was delicious). Maybe you'd better ask metoikos or madame…

Good, anyone who gets annoyed by simple questions about the availability of food deserves to be annoyed :)

Funnily people complaining about vegans are like 10x more numerous AND annoying than militant vegans themselves. And I say that as an unapologetic omnivore. It's enough that a vegan says "no, I don't eat meat" at a party when offered some animal based treats, and suddenly people feel the urge to start an hour long discussion.

Apart from that yeah the food by metoikos et al was fine but AFAICR they decided not to do it again because they kinda missed the whole party over that.

So, as a vegetarian is there anything to eat except pizza 8)
We're actually evaluating the possibility of coming to the party with Deepr/Adapt this year \o/

Hmm, that media facade compo is seriously interesting. Maybe I should target that for a prod :)

Yeah, pretty much all vegans i know are chill people that never really complain about anything and usually bring their own food (which is always delicious)

That's what I normally do at demoparties, but it's a bit of a hassle to bring 4 days worth of food from Finland :) If all else fails I could bring some food for Friday and then hoard at the supermarket on Saturday. Also, I guess there's at least going to be currywurst mit pommes ohne currywurst.

crepe. fries. and there are restaurants in walking distance so vegetarians don't have to start nibbling on trees.

cos even as omnivore i wouldnt wanna eat 4 days 'festival food' ;)
