Navis distorted 3d captured face on the video snapshot makes it all even better.

With all due respect to a deity like mr. Moroder, the tune is definitely not worth the hype.

I can see this is blowing up in comment fields all over now. Hopefully the parties are close to a deal.

..and by "deal" I mean: "an agreement that properly compensates the rights owners who's property was grossly infringed upon".

Not that it matters but I think I did read somewhere that the running particle-man is not Navis but some 3rd party free animation...

i hope you're just trolling, cos that's even more clueless than magic :D
No IIRC it was even said by Navis or aMusic, but maybe I confuse it with something else...
BTW I don't mean that what is seen in the demo is simply a played back animation - there certainly is a bunch of code adding particles and stuff. Just like the girl in The Evolution of Vision.

xernobyl, Spin contains 2 bvh animations that are free and provided by the Second Life community. Everything else is modeled by either Navis or ch3.

From page 3. (This is also stated in the production's NFO.) However, this doesn't say which ones and so makes neither of you wrong.
What dixan said but now that it's done though, whoever that Moroder guy/group is needs to seriously start considering applying proper dues.
My belief comes from some older posts, about the time when Spin was released.

These are the two most technical comments I found, by Navis: one and two.

The rest were mostly about the music, and some other odds and ends not relating to the production of it. This is the NFO.
I'm happy for Navis.

Also, all this years discussing how to sell the demoscene to the world... well. Now we can say this video clip is a realtime demo ^_^ I'd be great if this happened more often (that people find demo prods good enough as to serve commercial art - without the "stealing" bit of course).

rutra+starchaser: that face particle scene is navis is own face captured with a kinekt. hell you can even recognize his face so how on EARTH can that be 3rd party free animation? :P
okkie: Thanks! GEMA/YouTube doesn't allow me to watch it, but I'll use a proxy when I'm back home.

or watch this beautiful finnish music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8x5Nl_y8YQ
Particle man, particle man
Doing the things a particle can
What's he like?
That's not important
Particle man

Is he a dot, or is he a speck?
Was he a capture from a Kinect?
Or was he ripped from Second Life instead?
Nobody knows
Particle man
