i'm amazed nobody has mentioned the nordic conspiracy yet
added on the 2009-04-01 19:13:20 by havoc havoc
Which one of them. The one with the tall paleskinned aliens that live underground in large cavern structures, the one where the world is really ruled by Denmark because den and Dan sounds so similar, and because Denmark is DANmark in danish...the lost of tribe of dan, the viper that will hide in the grass for the other tribes according to the Bible. The one where Denmark is really ruled by Sweden under the same scenario as before, the one where the freemasons of swden rule the world or perhaps another one?... There is quite a few nordic conspiracies to pick from, so there is no need to be picky :p

I'm surprised no one mentioned the GLOBAL WARMING.
It's probably the best conspiracy theory we have running now.

Climate change: Learning to think like a geologist

The articles arround that make me laugh the most though are those who mention earth is going to become such a dry place and that we should prepare for water shortages. I mean. Just like those water molecules are going to escape earth's gravitation just because it gets warmer... :D

Global warming is a well documented fact. The anthropogenic factor and the question whether or not the current climate change fits into the grand scale of ice age/warm age swings is still somewhat controversial though.

That's Dubai mate. in 2004 UAE saw snow for the first time in recorded history, and now it's snowing in Dubai (20cm of snow).

Sure global warming is a fact based on the computer models we have, and what sums up to little but anecdotal evidence given the timescale. The billion dollar question is; is manmade global warming a fact or is it just another shallow excuse to tax the skin of peoples eyelids, dreamt up in the minds of bureaucrats. I think it is, but for our own good we should properbly stop spreading poison at the same rate we are doing atm.

Earth has come trough worse than humans, but we will properbly kill ourselfes because that is how dumb we are. have a nice evening btw :)

I don't think that it's a shallow excuse to tax people. The theory of man-made global warming has the purpose of telling people "Don't worry people, we have it under control!" If the scientific community/governments went out and said something like "We have no idea what is happening here. Anything could happen. Run for the hills!" then that would obviously be bad for a number of reasons.

In my opinion, the whole thing about shutting off lights for an hour in order to reduce CO2 emission has the effect of making people feel like they're in control. Basic psychology, a person that thinks that he's in control is a calm person. I wonder how long they'll going to be able to keep that up though. What are they gonna tell people when it's snowing in the Sahara desert :D
nystep when they talk about water shortages they're referring to clean, easily accessible water. this does not include the sea, for example :-)

what is that, Zecharia Sitchin?

Wasn't that Icke? The man who came first with all those reptilian conspiracy theories..
added on the 2009-04-01 22:03:06 by Optimus Optimus
Optimus, pff. Icke was just the latest. It started with sitchin who never as far as I reckall never actually refer to the nephilim as reptilians, but I know That Jordan Maxwell picked up on it and thinks they are reptillians. Maxwell is the guy from whom Icke stole most of the stuff on astrotheology (most of the stuff that actually does make some sense) all the way down to what images he uses in his slideshow, this was Maxwells work for the most part, but Icke took the reptile thing and gave it a whole new spin of his own. I think partly because he met a woman named Arizone Wilder (lulz) who claimed to have been princess Dianas freind and brought up in an illuminati network, and tells the sobbing tale of her nightmarish upbringing and how Diana used to say to her that the quote: royal family of England are not human, end quote.

In this case, the story behind the story is actually far more insterresting.

It's controversial in the same way that evolution and the existence of the holocaust are controversial: a few well-publicised extreme opinions can rock the boat. The IPCC is the UN body responsible for sifting through the propaganda from both sides, and they've concluded that there's a 90%+ likelihood that man-made climate change is happening. And they're not rabid environmental lobbyists - they're about as impartial as you can possibly get.

(Thread hijacking? hell yeah. This is kind of important.)
