if I happen to be close to Wall-Mart tomorrow morning when their Black Friday sale starts (HD-DVD player for 98 dollars!) I'm not really going to complain about that

You would be a daring man to enter a Wall-Mart on Black Friday.

Gloom, stay away from Wal-mart: Norway Keeps Nest Egg From Some U.S. Companies (NY times).

Quote:
While Norway and the United States have had warm relations, Americans here point out that in its manifesto, the Socialist Left Party describes the United States as “the greatest threat to world peace.”

And then, if you have just the basic skills required for thought, you start connecting the dots.

1-The Peace Nobel Prize.
2-A recent TV Interview.
3-Economic pressure on American companies (the article in the previous Hyde post).

I'm not a PhD in politics, but it doesn't need one to see what's going on.

Okkie: You still can!

Speaking of the topic here: fuckings to people trying to make my little hobby into some serious thing. I like it perfectly well the way it is, you pretentious fucks. Yes, that's you, rest-of-the-scene-people! Leave me alone!

Ok, the scene is now a company.
You can pick up your ID card and credentials at the front desk (conveniently located in Bingen) and remember to return a signed contract withín this week - or consider yourselves fired (or "kicked", if you will...)

No, seriously...I think it's a great job, you guys are doing. How did you fund this trip?
nutman, look at the "supported by" list in the right column :) - the basic idea being that we hope this trip might result in attention from (and hopefully sponsorship by!) some cool companies that actually get what the scene is about. it's at least far more direct (and has a higher chance of success) than talking with a bunch of low- to midlevel marketing guys in europe.

Gloom: you could've made a pretty nice demosceneTV roadtrip report out of this rather than a blog. You even have a stereotype roadtrip ensemble -from the well-meaning guy to the outright scumbag. Missed opportunity and perhaps something for a 2008 outreach? :)

Shifter: While I don't agree with you on your definition of our ensamble, there will be a roadtrippy-kind-of-thing in video format. I have two full DV tapes of footage that I'm bringing with me back home to edit when the jetlag clears. :)

We just didn't want to focus on video in the blog since the purpose of it is really more to do two basic things; 1) keep YOU GUYS informed about our progress, and 2) let the people we visit see what our impression was of them after we leave :) (all of the people we visit gets the URL before we leave)

keops: It was so obvious that I didn't even bother commenting on it, so yeah :)

Gloom: *shrug* get to learn your young, dynamic troupe of youngsters on the road better then.

Nice to hear there's at least some footage then. It would definitely work for DTV.
added on the 2007-11-03 11:15:39 by Shifter Shifter
Sure it would work on DTV if we have the time to cut and upload it.
For the next time you come with your camerateam and take care that all footage is sent out immediately after our work is done while we go out boozing...

Btw. we are pretty happy that we made it to fill this blog every once in a while that guy like you can take part in some way. If you don´t want this just don´t read it.
