Outline 2007 - May 11th - 14th

The suggestion of putting the demo/intro compos up first seems ...novel :)

Don't worry, we'll just delay the demo compo for say.. a whole day, again.

i hope you'll excuse me for saying this, but complaints about the date of the party at this point in time are so completely and utterly pointless... sure we would like to plan the party at a date that is more convenient to our audience. perhaps if scamp would be so kind to cancel breakpoint, then we could move back to the original outline date, and the monday won't be a problem for anyone!

come on scamp, just cancel it! you know you want to! go on!

<snap>

reality dictates that we're in no position to just select any random weekend to organise our party. there were a few dates when we could get the building, some collided with other events, internal discussion and some "market research" narrowed the choice down even further, and in the end we decided on may 11-14. ideal? by no means. best we could make it? you betcha...

any dates for a party are better than no dates at all.

i wish more parties would think like this, i see no point for delaying the most important competitions (demos and intros) till 3-4 in the morning in the schedule (and we all know that schedules at demo parties break with 1-2-3 hours). scheduling demos/intros/wilds at around 24:00 hrs seems the most sane to me.
havoc: just get ATi as sponsor ;)
*bump*

Don't forget to pre-pay your tickets in order to get the 10 euro discount! (Or 3 euro discount on single day tickets.)

[hush] the prototype of my boot sector is ready, and it's 2/3 done in Assembly. Things are looking good. [/hush]

outline has been advising several people to book flights to airport dusseldorf/weeze (aka niederrhein). dutch newspapers reported this morning that ryanair will be adding several new flights/destinations to their existing schedule serving the airport. to facilitate the expansion, the runway at the airport will be reconstructed. the reconstruction process begins on may 14th (the monday that outline ends).

ryanair and the airport will be providing a shuttle service to the alternative airport for flights booked between may 14 and the last day of the restructuring. exactly how much delay this will cause is currently unknown, and is supposed to be announced to ryanair customers by e-mal in the foreseeable future. obviously any dropoffs that have been arranged sofar by the outline organisation will be adapted to fit this new schedule.

at this moment, we expect that pickups scheduled for may 11 and 12 (friday and saturday) will take place as planned at dusseldorf/weeze.

the outline organisers have contacted dusseldorf/weeze airport and ryanair officials. our aim is to avoid the shuttlebus and transport visitors directly to the alternative airport on monday the 14th. ofcourse any progress in this direction will be reported here asap.

read the press release about the runway reconstruction (in german) here:
