Hmm.. the putsch track comparison is actually a bit farfetched. It sounds like it, but it's a tad weak.

I would like to hear that Justin song played a little bit faster or the Putsch'79 song played slower.. but, yeah, there are some reminders in there but as it is it's quite hard to actually say anything more than that

On another (stolen) note: Fitts for Fight are now deleted from the lineup of by:larm 2007. This is Norway's biggest expo of independent music, and aims towards the foreign market. Many well known Norwegian acts such as Röyksopp had their initial breaktrough here. FFF were originally picked, but are now refused due to the fact "that their own material is not mature enough". In the well known manner of the who-knows-who policy of the Norwegian music establishment, By:larm does of course not have the balls to say that they were refused because of plagiarism. Still, its obvious that the pressure on them from Micromusic has obviously been massive. Good fucking riddance to FFF!

Its also obvious that I should do more proof reading. Obviously.

i cannot hear the putsch´79 resemblance. and putsch'79 is not only sami liuski, it's a band of two members (from which the other has also made tracker music and released with the nick of mjumble).

Archmage: It's sad that people are so slow to catch up to the "Fitts for fight" thing, as they are still touring. I walked passed John Dee on saturday, and before the Rockettothesky-consert, Fitts for fight was the warm-up band. Someone should really make an effort to take them down properly.

chavez: i never said that. i said sami liuski from putsch'79 ... continued

Gloom: The show on JD was their "trial" before their eventual performance on by:larm. They were only allowed to perform songs of their own, and these obviously sucked. I've seen them, and without the backing tracks they are nothing.

As for people being slow with catching up - nothing new there. I have had some insight into the mechanics of Norwegian music life, and trust me, if the right people are behind a group like FFF they are virtually untouchable even if they are exposed as rip-offs.

And... you in Oslo as well? We should gather some more sceners and grab a beer sometime.

one reason for bylarm expressing themself so smoothly about the fact that FFF ripped of, is that Øystein Ronander, the By:Larm dude, is FFFs agent, and tried really hard to get the micromusicartists to allow FFF to use their songs. Belive dat. and afaik they aint 15 but soon 18.

I'm all for that. Actually, a few years ago we used to have semi-regular demoscener-beer-meetings at Sikamikaniko and other scener-friendly clubs/pubs here in Oslo. I guess we could try to kickstart this again, as there are quite a few sceners here again (after Fala... oops.. ARM .. moved half the scene to Trondheim :)

Sidenote: is it just me, or does Pouet appear to be really slow now? Slower than normal I mean. :)

dub: Didn't know that, but it figures. I had some dealings with Ronander when I played at the same event in 2004. He is an ok guy, but he most definetly plays a double role in being main booker and at the same time being an agent for the band he books. Goes to show that this business is cheezy as hell.

ps: It reopened. :) It's becoming the standard venue for drum'n'bass-evenings nowadays. It's not quite as cosy (a bit more "styled up"), but quite nice none the less.. To little room to sit down though.

ps: Sikamikanico is still open. We just moved the boozing to another place. And that place has been closed down, but not before the pub-meets kinda halted. So it's "our" fault, not their. But then again, as gloom pointed out - ARM ate the Norwegian scene ;)
