PPU cards like AGEIA PhysX...

i may be wrong but they are too expensive for what they are bringing for the moment. they will prolly get better but multi CPU-core and GPU based physics engines will prolly kill them before their popularity explosion.

I don't see a reason why we need PPU cards when upcoming GPU's shader models can pretty much do the same.

How could you forget the Amiga AAA Chipset?

Sam and max 2 y Full throttle 2

Well, AGEIA may not be doomed as much as you think. Since they were the first to start they may have built up a nice patent portfolio. If the chip business does not work out they could license their IP and software, ideally recovering their investment.

I once (2001?!) received a 64k-Preview by Hellfire^HJB called Stream (if i remember correctly). It had AWESOME realtime procedural fog in it.
