TBF, this is kind of a joke entry. "The Mega Drive is not supposed to run OpenGL code!" :D - isokadded on the 2026-07-20 15:45:20

I'm not sure what was done here exactly (is it based on some third party opengl ES implementation?) but music is nice and even the preview image has better framerate than the real thing :-D
lol Very much so!
This is an OpenGL ES 1.0 CL implementation I'm working on, targetting microcontrollers. On a whim, I ported it to the Mega Drive and decided to write a demo. Since the Z80 was basically idle, I asked Jeenio to write me some music and he did.
At the point when I wrote this, I had just finished implementing glDrawElements and the some of the geometry types for glDrawArrays (having initially just GL_TRIANGLES). The different "mini-demos" where actually the samples I wrote to test each of the geometry types.
For now, the implementation has no proper optimisations (I'm more concerned with the semantics being correct), but hopefully soon it will run better. - isokadded on the 2026-07-20 09:18:11

Thank you for your first submission. Never stop trying :)
Thank you for the kind words, my dear colleague! - isokadded on the 2024-12-15 18:44:59

- This was my first prod. The underlying technology is capable of much more, but I was a bit stuck and unsure of what to do; but I really needed to submit something, to get out of this eternal loop of self-doubt.
So, I'm all open for constructive feedback. I know it sucks, you don't need to tell me :) - sucksadded on the 2024-12-15 18:44:14
