i assume you watched it in emulator (excuse me if i'm wrong), but the rotozoomer does this kinda interlace-blur thingy to make it look like higher resolution, and this looks flickery in most emulators.
So, you could try visual boy advance emulator with "Motion Blur" filter enabled...
